lump
Another find in my friends' booth. He has this Bijur self-oiling component. Can anyone shed any light on this? Years/models of usage? Rough idea of value? He is a good guy, and I would like to help him if I can.
Studemax
It's for a milling machine or lathe, not a car.
Brass is Best
I have seen similar units on Packards from the mid-thirties. Edited February 18, 2023 by Brass is Best (see edit history)
Jolly_John
It looks like there's already a price tag on this item, Lump. 😊 John Edited February 18, 2023 by Jolly_John (see edit history)
JACK M
There was a Bjur system on a 53 Bently I used to have. I don't recall just what it looked like.
Graham Man
I have a Bijur oiling system on my 1929 Graham-Paige 827. You press down on the pedal when leaving home, it oils all kinds of stuff.

It is different from the type used on machine tools. I think the later posts cover some of the possibilities.... The ones for machine tools have a dedicated pump lever which you pump once to oil the machine every few hours of operation.

1937hd45
I just dropped the price on the one I have in the classified section taken off a Twin Six Packard. Bob
Greg H.
Auburn used them too. Someone may correct me, but I think it’s an automatic chassis lubricator. Greg
Bloo
I don't think that's terribly far off. Especially the part about rhyming with geezer. I might pronounce a tiny bit more of the "j", something more like "zh". Source: listening to geezers talk about this stuff long before I became one.
