George Formby Buys a Car

The UW series of plates was issued in London, UK, and ran from September to December 1929.

 

The car is a Chrysler 77 -

I have seen other photos of a similarly stripped Studebaker out there somewhere in the mud and snow. I had an idea it may have accompanied the competitors in the New York to Paris race for a while?
