Nice pics Lamar -- and nice Buick.  Looking at your Estate Wagon got me thinking about my maternal grandfather.  He owned a '59 Ford Country Sedan (wagon) while I was growing up and he nursed it along for 10 years as he saved-up in anticipation of buying a new '69 -- but this one would be a top-of-the-line LTD Country Squire.  I remember he & my grandmother analyzing the brochures trying to decide on the exterior & interior colors.  Anyway, my point is they settled on a very similar light yellow exterior with tan interior.  I remember them saying that they thought it complemented the exterior wood-grain trim.  Looking at your Buick, I say I have to agree with them!  ;)

Oh I would definitely agree emtee. And btw  “light yellow” is the actual name of the color, there was also a dark yellow offered 😊 thanks for complements.

With all that time hanging around churches, one might begin to think that MrEarl’s getting some religion.  Either that or he’s wearing out the knees of his pants asking for a trouble-free trip with Southern Belle and Argosy to OK.

😉😜

Went shopping for Argosy curtain fabric with Rita today and was blessed with another drive through the country to get there. Off and on heavy rains, wipers worked fine in all modes.

Took the opportunity yesterday to go for a ride in the Special since the sun was out and visit a few friends.

Ended up having one go for a ride and drove up to another who was out cutting his wet long grass.

I think he was a bit envious as he mentioned he might get his Monarch out after his work was completed and take his brother out for supper.

With 6 other cars in there he has his choice but the easiest is the last one in obviously.

After a bit of city cruising dropped my passenger off and went back to park the Special for the night.

Have not shot a picture of the mileage for a bit but it is adding up and the season is in full swing now.

It begins!  I actually drove three Buicks today, at least briefly.  I had to pull the Wildcat out of the shop to get the Skyhawk out.  I drove the LeSabre home and 21 year old son drove the Skyhawk home.

I’ve previously measured it as 61 km door to door, but we did take a slightly different route home today in consideration of one particular construction zone.

The drive went well overall, but every time I so much as look at the wagon, there’s more I see that needs to be done.  For now I just want to turn it into a functional driver...that may take more time and money than I’d initially hoped.

The Skyhawk goes for a spring service / oil change and check over on Tuesday.  We’ve got just over a month before the trek to Oklahoma.

Was able to get the wagon out again for an early Mother’s Day trip. Drove up what we call the “Sea to Sky” highway to the community of Squamish which is at the end of Howe Sound (ocean inlet) and surrounded by mountains. There is a nice brew pub there that my mother likes and she very much enjoyed the drive. Only about a 100 mile round trip but my total this year is now around 350 miles. Baby bites...

Took SouthernBelle tire shopping and had some brake and suspension assessments done this week. She was directed to go to “High Society Parking”  while I waited for a bay. 😁

Brakes are in outstanding condition, front end suspension is showing her 135K miles

I think I’m going to stay with black. One reason being I’m considering an Lt passenger tread touring tire for benefits of towing. But tha’s another subject for another forum so won’t hi jack JDs one here😊

I got the Skyhawk out again today for a few miles to the local car club’s swap meet.  It’s the biggest local one there is.  I got something that can work for a forum swap at the National if that happens again and I got a couple odds and ends.  I hadn’t seen 8 tracks for a few years, but there were a couple vendors with some this year, so I picked up a few for tunes in the Electra.

I forgot to take a photo of the car there, but here’s a couple photos from the swap meet.

Got a few miles in this evening.

I spent the last few days working on my son's truck and got a bit of time where the weather was above 50 degrees and it wasn't raining.

I'm up to 164 miles so far. I think that's more than all of last year.

I stopped at the town hall to get a quick photo. the sky looked great. This is beautiful downtown Gustavus, Ohio.

I drove by a few of our famous landmarks and will post photos of them next trip. And the odometer turned to 50,000 miles.

Thanks for the 2019 challenge.

Bill

I drove the Skyhawk perhaps another 5 whopping miles this morning.  I have to be away for the weekend for a wedding and there are a few other things needing doing, including replacing the rear end oil - without a drain plug, the cover needs to be removed, so sealant will need time to cure and a long weekend is as good as any.  Should be in the range of 55 miles so far.

Toughed out a few rain drops going to a weekly cruse-in and then out for supper. Parked a bit out in the lot of the plaza and saw this when finished dinner.

Guess he had the same idea as us.

One nice 67 Caddie.

Did a Saturday evening cruise with my oldest in the passenger side tonight.

Not big miles but fun as I used to take him in the Special for a cruise Downtown and back when he was about 7-8 years old to give Mom a break (ya, that was my story).

Tonight was interesting as he commented that the Downtown had changed so much!

At 34 and obviously not frequenting like he used asked him, Are you getting old? LOL!

Nice top down weather at 70 degrees and the Special did great!
