Hooked George to the teardrop this morning to see if the new brakes and controller worked well together. They do. Sorry, no pic of that encounter.  BUT, George took the bits in his mouth and ran.  West about 50 mile or so.  Sure was hard to not keep following Hwy 82 to the mountains and beyond.  Soon.

Up to 1560 for the year.   Go George!

Went out to run errands today as it was 70 degrees again after an early morning of rain again!

Stopped by my boys house to let the dog out and cruised on home for supper.

Shot this before parking back in the garage.

Chalked up a few more miles locally attending a car show fund raiser.

Got rained out by noon but...

Had plans to get the Cougar out of storage anyway.

The Skyhawk is presently just shy of 100 miles now after some running around town.  The forecast for the next several days is all sunshine, so hopefully I can work in some shakedown miles prior to pointing south for Oklahoma.

With my last trip to a Car Show in London, Ontario my total (according to the trip odometer) is now 647.2 miles for this years challenge.

Surviving what I believe was a tornado on the way home and with the car running with no issues, feeling I will meet this years challenge (touch wood).

Small trip to the Historic town of Amherstburg last night to go for ice cream.

It was coolish being on the water and only 65 degrees so left the top up and the heat on during the trip home.

The hot fudge treat special was great!

At roughly 1320 miles for the year on the Skyhawk, so we should complete the challenge on Monday.

@Buicknutty did for sure with his Electra.

The question is, after this trip, how many miles can I put on another one.  If I were to attend the Heartland Regional, that would be about a 900 mile round trip.

Nice to see Etta and Chiquita, I mean Southern Belle, getting along so well.

I’ve got 85.8 miles to achieve the challenge and will wrap it up tomorrow morning.

2390 round trip miles to the National completes the challenge for Grenouille who is presently at 2500 miles for the year.  I’m not the only driver...Luke did some driving around home before we left and in Midwest City and Teresa did some driving on the return trip.

Went for dinner at the weekly Monday night Cruise-In held at Brews & Cues.

Will do the wings again!

It was a warm night but left the top up (for the wife).

Drove along the River to Downtown after the 505/50 draw and headed home before dark.

Camera battery went dead so no picture but noticed the trip odometer reads 699.0 miles.

To be continued...

That's the way to do it @Thriller… Which one is next?

😃

I’m recuperating somewhat, so haven’t decided yet.  I think I will be changing the oil and sending the Skyhawk out to the country.  The 1941 and 1954 haven’t seen much use in recent years, so perhaps one of them will manage to get some exercise.  If I bring out the 1954, then at some point this summer I ought to be able to get a shot with both wagons.

Put the new starter in and then took a drive through Texas.   Bandera, where we saw Longhorns on the courthouse square and folks riding horses in the street to Boerne (Bernie) where some fool tried to run me off the road and home again.  Big loop of about 90 miles.  AC was blowing Ice cubes and the starter worked flawlessly.

On Friday evening after cleaning up the tires went to fill up the Special for a 65 mile trip to Chatham, Ontario for an all day car show.

Ironically the total was 58 bucks for a 58 Buick.

Up early Saturday and got a good spot at an intersection to show her off.

Both my wife and I fielded questions about how long I had it and is it original etc...

A big show with some 800 plus cars of all grades and makes spread over 7 or 8 blocks made for a lot of walking in this quaint old City.

The group we went with had to fill up for the trip home so decided I'd top up too.

My trip odometer now reads: 847.9 miles

Fueled up before heading out to tonights Hemmings Cruise in. Taking my 10% adjustment II'llcall it 210 miles. That puts me at roughly 580 so far this year.  The odometer pic came out blurry so will try again on the next fill up.

Well, I have no idea how accurate the odometer is, nor the speedo for that matter, although they both move now.

I have no illusions about getting a second car over 2000 miles this year, but this is the one at hand (and perhaps will be trading the Skyhawk for another this weekend).  It’s probably got 60-80 unrecorded miles on for the year.  I love the way this car sounds, although not necessarily how it smells.

Based on the rust that this car had, it must have wrapped around...either that or had a hard life or sat outside, but the original seat covers would suggest that isn’t the case.

Fueled up tonite and recorded an additional 165 miles.  Forgot to take a picture but this brings me to 745 miles so far.  Looks like I need to abandon the other two if I am going to accomplish this goal.

NAH!!!
