Trouble accessing ROA website?

I can't seem to access the ROA website lately.  Does anyone know what's going on?

I tried logging on from home and from work, at different times of day.

Each time I try, this is the warning message I get:

Any ideas on what is going on, or what I can do?

Thanks,

There was a change to the website, thanks to Ray, a couple of days ago, it can now be reached at either "www.rivowners.org" OR "www.rivowners.com." Ray wanted to be sure to protect the site so he made sure no one else can use it from a "dot org" AND a "dot com" site address.

For your issue Alex, you might check to be sure you don't have "https" in the address bar? If you save it as "http" without the "s" it should find the website without any problems. Or if you just go to it using www.rivowners.org it should work.

Hopefully that will fix it for you, if not let us know and we'll see if we can help further.

Thanks,

I have had the same problem for the last 2 days with the same message. I am using the same link I have used for years, which is the .org address.  I just tried them both from the previous post the .org gave the same message. The .com address did get me through.

http://www.rivowners.com/ works but not the other one.

I too have had a problem every now and then, but, if you use the link in my signature block, or the one in my last post, it takes you to the website. When I was having issues I even tried different browsers and it still gave me problems, but the links above work for me in any of the ones I use.

Hi Randall,

When I begin to type the address my computer automatically completes the web address. I was receiving the same message but when I deleted the "s" at the end of "https" the page loaded no problem. Thanks,

Tom

Thanks RivMan!

Accessing the site via the dot.org address worked for me!

The links to various subpages within the main site still use https.  To access them (after getting the annoying error message), I have to remove the "s".   Is this a permanent thing?  Or will the site be fixed so all pages within can be accessed without having to manually edit the address of the page?

The webmaster should make all of the website pages with https: and have the proper security certificates installed on the web server for increased security.  A site with http: is not secured by any significant security and is easier to hack.

I concur, hopefully the webmaster will get these issues fixed soon.

There has been a lot of grumbling on FB ROA groups about people wanting to join the ROA but either can't access the site or the membership page.

My two cents worth...
