Denatured alcohol. A little bit on a paper towel or rag. Just rub. Works great. I keep some handy all the time. Never had a problem with denatured alcohol on clear coat, paint or fiber glass. Bill H

When I pulled the completely blown 6 cylinder out of my 59 Biscayne I dropped in a 68, 327. Factory 4 barrel, duel exhaust with single hump heads. Nice. Still have the motor. All original. Had to have headers. Had a duplicate of original, dual exhaust system fabricated with the stock, (flat), mufflers. To make a long story short....I hated the headers. Loved the sound. Hated the burns on me and the spark plug wires. Anything you do to the car... they are in the way. Just a pain. They get ugly after a while. I went back and forth with headers to stock manifolds several times when I owned the car and when I sold the car, the headers were in the trunk. Do what you want but a duel exhaust system with cast iron is maintenance free and sounds good. And no leaks. My 2 Cents. Been there done that. Bill H

I have a 30 Chrysler CJ-6, 4 dr sedan. About half way finished. Almost the same as your Plymouth. They share most of the mechanical parts with Dodge and Desoto. Same body except for minor details. There is a ton of information to be had on this Forum as long as your going to restore the car. If your not going to keep it some were close to original mechanically then thats your choice. Then people like me will try to buy your parts such as running gear and wheels etc. (I need your transmission) I really hope your going to keep the Plymouth original. They are grand old cars and very road worthy with the hydraulic brakes and the smooth and capable 6 cylinder engine. Very comfortable to drive also. Some pictures of your car are a must, for us to see, and then a list of your wants and needs. Post on the Plymouth section of this forum and Google everything. E Bay has stuff all the time, depending on what you need. Good luck. Bill H

We invited my daughters violin teacher over to the house for dinner one night. She is a collector of everything. She loves old and unique stuff, no matter what. She is in her early 70's. I walked her out to my garage and after stepping inside the garage and seeing the Chrysler and the Model A she started sobbing a little bit. I asked what was wrong and she said. "The smell of the cars and garage reminds he of her father's and grandfather's garage when she was little. Very touching at the time. Bill H

I need one of those for my 30 Chrysler. My gears are pot metal and the larger gear is in about eight pieces. I have the whole assembly but it is in bad shape mechanicly, as far as gears go. Trashed. Looks great, black. The sedans look rich and majestic painted black. Lots of times.... less is more. I've been looking at different color combinations for 30 Chryslers but I keep going back to black. I have, thanks to E Bay etc, 5 outside door handles for my 30 Chrysler CJ-6. I have the original, outside locking door handle, that came with the car, with keys, but the pot metal escutcheon is broken in half. The escutcheon for the locking handle is totally different from the non-locking handles. The locking handle escutcheon has shoulders that extend into the door, sheet metal, at/around, the mounting screws. (passenger side only). Don't want to pay an arm and a leg but some of you guys seem to have a lot of stuff laying around. I could probably make a non locking handle work but thought I would put this out there just to see what happens. Non locking handles that need chrome, go for around 20 to 40 dollars. I have the lock and the handle .... I need that funky escutcheon or complete handle with no lock, to repair the one I have. Thanks and I'll add pictures later.

Checked for the "fit", of my compete, NEW, duplicate of original and beautiful running boards that I just received in the mail. Perfect! Bought an outside, non locking door handle off of E Bay for my 1930 Chrysler CJ for 39.00. Bill H

Dave Contact Verdone Castings. Marty Lum said they made a set of steering wheel levers for his 30 Desoto. I haven't contacted Verdone, yet, but I'm going to need a set myself for my CJ. If I'm not badly mistaken ... there were some 30 Chryslers that had a greenish engine block. For some reason I painted mine a silver green back in 1977. I wouldn't have painted it that color if it was black from the factory. Seems like it was a Pontiac engine paint that matched pretty close. Kind of a silver green. Bill H
