  1. I'd pay off my water front lot and start building on it. Then sell my house. Have you heard of Dave Ramsey?? Bill H
  2. Let me tell you about the Carter BB-1 that I got bid out of, with 2 seconds to go, on EBay. He went 10 dollars higher than me. Bill Harmatuk
  3. So sorry Tazman I always wanted a grand national. They were BAD eggs for a V-6. I always knew they would be future collectables were most cars made these days are throw aways or disposable. I hope the guy that stole it makes the wrong move when a SC or GA Highway Patrolman pulls him over. If you know what I mean. Good luck on recovering your baby. Bill Harmatuk
  4. Thanks Keiser My bid is in and I have an hour and 40 min to go. Lets keep our fingers crossed!! May be that high speed jet isn't hurt too bad. Notice that it's bent? Bill H
  5. I've decided that since the correct Carter RT-08 153 and the Stromburg are so hard to find ... and pricey, that I'm going to purchase a new Zenith. My only road block right now is to find the correct venturie size for the 196 ci motor. They make a thousand Zenith models and I have a couple of model numbers. They are 14544 and 13922. I'm going to call the company and pick their brain and continue my research. Any help... I'm listening. Thanks for all the replies. Bill H
  6. I was told by the Carb Shop that a short pump, DRT-08, was the wrong carburetor for my CJ. I have found one that is completely rebuilt for a 30, 31 Desoto or Dodge. What scares me is that the guy,(at the Carb Shop), said that it would be like putting a Holley Dominator on a slant 6. He doesn't have a RT-08, #153, which he said was the correct Carter. He said he has a Stromberg but it is .....well.... a house payment. I wanted to buy outright. What is the difference in a short pump, Carter DRT-08 and a RT-08#153?? Will the DRT-08 fit? Trial and error can get real expensive real quick. I need some guidance. I need a carburetor. Bill H
  7. I have a 30 CJ 6, so I'm waiting on a reply also. I just sent my master cylinder and wheel cylinders off to be sleeved with brass and rebuilt. There are a lot of Chrysler experts on here that will answer you. Bill H
  8. Sorry....... I just saw your other post. I thought 191937 was a part number. Bill
  9. Hey Martin What do they fit?? If they will work on a 30 model CJ we need to talk. I have 2 off my CJ that could be used for patterns. Whats left of them. I had 2 made by a sheet metal man a few years ago but they are out of speck, here and there, by 1/4 to a 1/2 inch. They don't look like the original ones but they would do in a rush, by the time you get the mat and moulding on them. When I install them, they are going to have to be tweaked a bit. Reproducing mine would be labor intense even for a good sheet metal man. Bill Harmatuk What about some pictures??
  10. Thanks, guys. You are the GREATEST. Just the info I needed to know. I just bid on the one on E-Bay. I have 6 days left and the reserve not met. We'll see how this goes. Anybody that has a working carburetor laying around the shop..... I'm willing to dicker. Bill H
  11. Help and opinions, please. The Carburetor that came on my 1930 Chrysler CJ-6 is not the correct carburetor for the car and it will only run with the choke half open. (Can't find a vacuum leak) I think the carburetor is worn out or damaged inside. It appears to be a Zenith 2408,(on the round tag) and is cast steel, with accelerator pump which I'm told I don't really need. The carbs flange is bigger than the intakes flange (2 3/8). The mounting holes have been elongated so the carb will fit the stock intake. The carb is an updraft. Intake has a 1 11/32 throat. This car will be driven and I want the best, reliable carburetor for the 196 ci displacement of the motor. In other word a carb that matches the displacement. Every thing else on the car will be original. Should I go with a Zenith, (new) Carter, or Stromberg. Remember I want reliability and efficiency, and ease of maintenance. Which Zenith., which stromberg and which Carter are you guys using on your Plymouths and Dodges that are driven and trailer queens too.?? Any help or replies or correct carbs for sale, please let me know. I almost called about a new Zenith but I thought I would as the EXPERTS. Bill Harmatuk
  12. Who bought the Davis that was sitting beside Highway 70, behind the fence, in Kinston, N.C.?? Some one E-Mailed me and I was going to take and send him some pictures. The car was gone last time I passed through. Sure hope that what was left found a good home. Some rare and beautiful parts were still left on the heap. The guy that contacted me had a Davis with an "unusual" history. So I was told. Bill Harmatuk New Bern, N.C.
  13. As a matter of fact....... You asked. About 1977, I helped a friend clean out his deceased Dad's shop. He was an aircraft sheet metal mechanic, forever. He built a boat one time with a dodge motor in it and had a blower from a forge hooked to it for a super charger. As the story goes he ran it through the side of some ones yacht. I bought the all original 49 Harley. He sold the 3 Indians, The inline 4 cylinder, (Chief?) was complete, and two basket case, (Indians). There were also 2 other Harleys that were a pile of parts. A couple from Charlotte bought the whole lot. There was a rotary aircraft engine in the rafters. Some kind of strange automobile motor with oil bath rocker arms, (so I was told) A 1/5th exact replica of a 47 Ford with a wash machine motor, hanging on the wall. A 20 ft. metal lathe and tons of brass boat propellers. What wasn't sold for cheap was hauled to the scrap yard. I was broke and real stupid back then. Bill Harmatuk
  14. What a piece of work. Thats pretty. Bill H

Waterfront and the Neuse River Bridge?? I'm a Realtor and pictures and selling a New Bern lifestyle is what I do. They just finished a huge remodel on Broad Street, (no comment), for better or worse, and they will close off the down town streets for every one. You'll love the town. I'll do a simple photo shoot. 20. A blind man walks into a bar with a seeing eye dog....... Grabs the dog by the tail and swings the dog around and around and around. The bar tender runs around from behind the bar and says. "WHAT IN THE $#)( ARE YOU DOING." The blind man says. "Just looking around." Bill H
