  1. Yep. Most here don't like hot rod people. They and I don't like to see nice original cars. Most discussion here is about original cars. Yes. I have an original, rebuilt, numbers matching, 1968, 327, dual exhaust, 4 barrel motor and transmission in my barn. Gonna hang on to it. Just Google the heck out of what you want to do. (LS-1 in 68 Nova.) More reading than you can do in a week, I'm sure. The HAMB is a good place to start. (Hokey A33 Message Board.) Catalogs are probably full of kits that will supply everything you need. A phone call to some of these suppliers.....will hook you up. Be prepared to spend more time than money. Good luck. I love a 68 Nova. One of my favorite Chevrolets. Keep it looking original as possible. Always cool.
  2. Does he rebuild / repair many 29-30 Mopar 3 speed trannsmissions.?? Just asking. I may give him a call. Thanks for the info. I have a 1930 chrysler trans with a noise in first gear. I do have a spare and would like to have the original repaired.
  3. About 20 years ago I turned down / walked away, from a yellow, doe skin velour interior, Chrysler, maybe 1978??. Imperial Crown, station wagon in mint condition. Was parked. 1 owner. 440 cid., power everything. Was just another huge , ugly, old car, owned by a skating rink owner. Parked out back. If I'm not mistaken, it was the largest production, station wagon made by Chrysler. 2500.00 It haunts me. When I see a station wagon , I immediately shake my head, with the remorse. Beautiful wagon you have. What a head turner.
  4. Finally moving forward with the 30 Chrysler CJ-6, 4 door. Finished up interior painting. Gorgeous. Spent 3 days sanding Ospo off the entire exterior. Sanded some more. Taped off interior, inside firewall and everything from overspray. Sprayed with 2 part epoxy. Topped it off with 2 light coats of 2K sealer. Done. Stabilized again. Beautiful. Satisfied. Nothing left undone. Not a run to be seen. Sorted out other body parts. Did a little sand blasting. Setting up to spray the black fenders and splash aprons, gas tank cover. Preparing hood top and sides for epoxy and 2k. Not enough hours in the day. No slide show. Wont let me upload. Pictures too big, I guess. Picture of running, driving, chassis.
  5. Marty Lumm made 2 beautiful running boards for my 30 CJ-6 Chrysler. Exact duplicate of original. He offered. I payed a fair price for excellent craftsmanship. I think he copied the boards from his Desoto K. Has anyone heard from Martin lately.??
  6. I'm going to need a CORRECT rim spreader for 19 inch wheels, on a 1930 Chrysler CJ-6. Wheels are wooden with detachable rims. Point me in the right direction on EPay or PM me. Thanks.
  7. Heat it up almost cherry red and melt pure bees wax in / on the hinge pin. I was once a Pulp Mill mechanic. All mechanics had bees wax bars in their tool boxes. The store room had it in stock.
  8. Well said, Matt. I agree 100%. Happy New Year.
  9. Thanks. I watched it all. Now to trade the 2015 Mini Cooper High Gate.
  10. Had to find this. Thought you guys might like to see.
  11. Some times the Red Neck comes out in me. Security would have been called and I would have gotten kicked out of THAT show.
  12. I'm surprised that GM didn't issue a service bulletin to cover their butts like they did with the 2007 Tahoe. When the motors started using oil... at 75,000 miles, GM issued a bulletin saying it was SUPPOSED to use 1.5 quarts of oil between changes. I was asked to join a class action suit. I gave the Tahoe LTX away. My friend put a motor in his 07 Avalanche. He couldn't keep oil in it. When the "gas saving" mode kicked in. The same cylinders would drop out. Hot, cold. Hot, cold. Hot, cold. The piston rings couldn't stand it. Thanks, GM. My whole family drives Toyotas. Bill H
  13. Check The Filling Station. They sell Chevrolet parts but they have the windshield kit. At least they did. Thats where I got mine for a 30 Chrysler CJ-6. Good luck. Thanks for the pictures and illistrations. Bill H
  14. A machine shop could possibly make and or reproduce the "snout". My spare transmission needs one also. I don't need it yet. Bill H
  15. So I'm not the only one. ALL the shows have that stupid guitar sound. No way you can call it music. Just noise. I can't stand to watch a whole lot of the shows. They all have it. Just irritating. Bill H
  16. When my 2007 Tahoe LTX started using oil..... General Motors put out a service bulletin saying that the V-8 was supposed to use 1 1/2 quarts of oil between changes. Nope.!! The problem was the gismo that cut out cylinders to save fuel. The same cylinders cut out / dropped out, time after time, which caused the SAME cylinders to go hot, cold, hot, cold, hot, cold which doesn't work with the rings on an internal combustion engine. I was contacted by a group to be part of a class action law suit. I didn't respond. I'm now the owner of a 2015 Land Cruiser, 2017 Tundra, 2019 4Runner and a 2008 Yaris. They owe me nothing. I used to and still do work hard for my money. I didn't grow up throwing it away. As they say. Beauty is only skin deep. Ugly is to the bone. No more General Motors vehicles for me. My Dad loved Fords. Thats why I was a mechanic ALL my life. I was union for 32 years in the pulp and paper industry. If you want to know about the good, the bad and the ugly. Talk to a person that drives a roll back, (wrecker), in a big city.
  17. For what its worth. My 30 Chrysler CJ 6 has a Delco Remy 714 Q starter. Bill H

  19. Won't fit the Mini. Need to get rid of this. Fits 30 Model U. Presentable crank hole cover. Could stand a little polishing.
  20. Don't loose that crank hole cover. They don't exist. If they do exist, a 1930 crank hole cover is expensive. Bill H Thanks for the picture. from the side it looked like there was 3 bumpers. Good luck with your baby doll. Nice truck. Keep it as is.
  21. 30 Chrysler poking her head out of the garage door. Bill H
  22. I'm gonna need one for my 30 Chrysler CJ. Do ya think this would work?? Bill H
  23. Finnish or buy.?? If it goes on my trailer its over with. Nice truck. The market is all about trucks in North Carolina. Just saw a 63 short bed step side in nice shape go for 2500.00 as soon as it hit Facebook Yard Sales. . I need to learn how to copy and paste the cars I'm seeing come out into the sunshine or from in back of the barn. Must be drugs or hard times or too much Barrett Jackson. Bill H
  24. Goretex, rope. Probably 1/4 0r 5/16. I used to use it on anything from steam flanges to huge pump casings and oil reservoirs in Pulp and Papermaking / machines / and equipment. Has sticky tape on one side and flattens into a gasket. It is a white teflon type material. I have some 1/8 inch rope that I use for packing sink and outdoor water valves. Hope you find it. Good stuff. McMaster Carr has it. Bill H
