  1. What's even worse is the guy I know that has a 1959 Chev Impalla convert, 60 2dr hardtop, 61 2dr hardtop, 62 2dr hardtop and a 63 2dr hardtop, 47 Cadillac, 41 Ford coup rusting literally into the ground in the woods behind a field. He used to have a 68 Corvette convertible sitting in the yard with the hard top laying in the yard full of water growing mosquitoes and salamanders. And he won't sell any of them. I almost got on my knees and begged for the 59 convert. and he wanted something like 3000.00 for it. There was a tree growing up through the hood. Great thread guys. Bill Harmatuk
  2. Thanks, Steve. I guess that brass will be OK. I'm going to use regular brake fluid. I hear to much "stuff" about silicone fluid. Thanks again. Bill H
  3. Who have you guys used for wheel cylinder and master cylinder sleeving. Brass or stainless?? Would rather spend the money now than later.... and do it right the first time. Bill Harmatuk
  4. Would you happen to have an original carburetor for a 1930 Chrysler CJ-6 ??? I didn't see one in your list of SOUND EQUIPMENT......!?!? Bill Harmatuk
  5. SOLD BAM 6,000 DOLLARS Thanks Bill Harmatuk
  6. 36 chev gets the lens. The Item is sold. Thanks Bill H
  7. My 30 CJ- 6 (Chrysler) fenders don't have the top hole either and have a larger flange were they sit on top of the frame next to the engine bay. Bill H
  8. The diameter is 8 3/4. It is about 1 inch off the table, laying flat. The curvature. I found the lens in an old barn and it said Chevrolet on it so it was a keeper. Just tired of pushing it around so I thought I would give it to some one before it gets broken or thrown away. The shipping can't be that much. I'm going to pack it myself to make sure it gets there in one piece. Bill H
  9. Buddy... Your just in time. Had a club member and former local president look at my 30 2 door yesterday. My car is a complete car that was "restored" 20 years ago. The 39-42?? hydraulic brakes have never worked since I've owned it. It does have a Le Bonney interior and is an all steel car. It needs a good going over to be a great car. The guy that restored it took my Dad and I "up the river". I'm thinking about selling and sinking the money in my 30 Chrysler. I have owned the the Model A since 1969. Its also a N.C. car. Also has a brand new N.C. title. Just a side note..... If this is a prank, John Baldwin, I'll murder ya!!!! He's the guy that looked at it yesterday. Give me a call. 252-671-9842 cell Bill Harmatuk
  10. Just to make myself clear.... I only have one (1) lens. Bill H
  11. Any body know what year Chevrolet this is for?? I'm guessing 35... 36? The lens has a couple of chips at the bottom but looks great. Free to whom ever can use it. Reimburse for the shipping, please. Too good to throw away. Tired of pushing it around. Bill Harmatuk
  12. I don't think this is the correct carburetor for the car... 1930 Chrysler CJ-6... The flanges don't match. But this is the air cleaner that came with the car and it fits great. If you run across a carb for a 30 Chrysler, I think a BB-1, I'm in the market, and am interested in a working, rebuildable, decent carburetor. harmatukbill@gmail.com
  13. Try Rhode Island Wiring . A shot in the dark, but they duplicated my 30 Chrysler CJ 6 harness back in the early 80's because they didn't have a pattern. Gave me a little discount. They were great people to work with and the harness is an exact duplicate of original. If you have enough of the complete harness they may be able to duplicate and leave you enough length in the rear of the new harness to run the wire to the correct places. Tell them what you have and send them your old harness. Bill Harmatuk
  14. Speaking of condoms........... I bought a Volkswagon a couple years after I got married. Had problems with the battery under the back seat. Well.... Someone,.... the previous owner,.... hid a couple of condoms in the springs of the back seat, (I didn't know), and my wife found one in the back floor board that had fallen out as I accessed the battery area. Things weren't to good around the house for a while and thank God I had more problems with the battery cause I found another condom and a couple of receipts from the previous owner stuffed under the springs of the back seat cushion. I took my wife out and showed her the evidence. Man. Talking about a being in a tight spot for a while. Bill
  15. Looks like you had a high amp draw on a common house hold circuit. The circuit is probably #14 wire. On an appliance like a window air conditioner, or something like a 120 volt air compressor, it will not only be safer but save you a ton of money, if it were on its own designated circuit of #12 or better yet 10 gauge wire. Sometimes refrigerators are on designated (their own breaker) 12 gauge wired circuits. Most house recepticles are wired with 14 gauge wire with a bunch of outlets wired to a single breaker. For piece of mind, check to make sure you don't have too big of a breaker for the AC. The breaker should have tripped when things heated up. Your a lucky man. Make a donation to a local charity as a way of thanking a higher power for sending you to the basement. My 2 Cents. Bill Harmatuk
  16. I need a working or rebuildable carburetor for a 30 CJ. Bill Harmatuk

    FS coupe body

If you were on the East Coast I would have grabbed that one. Man what a deal. ! ! Bill
  18. Try Steele. Don't know what the web page is called but it should be easy to find. I bought a boot and other rubber goodies from Steele when the company name was Lynn H Steele. Bill H
  19. Just got back from a twelve hour drive to Nashville, and back. It got to the point I would lay on the horn to screw with the idiots in the far left lane on cell phones and driving while texting. They would have a half a mile or more of I 40 West grid locked.... With out a clue as to the dangerous situation that was happening behind them. I need a Mini paint ball gun. Bill
  20. Were do I start?? 1951 ford 2 dr custom I drove to high school in 1971. Flat head V-8 with a tank of some kind as a muffler. Sweet. Had 5 volkswagons from 61 to 1969 two of them were BAD A$&, all metal BaHa beetles. My friend and I port, polished and CC ed the heads in high school auto mechanics class. The rest of the speed equipment came from Warshawskys, the origional JC Whitney. !951, red, Dodge stepside. ALL original except for the 50 series tires and turbo mags. 1979 Datsun 280 ZXR that I bought out of the dealers showroom in 1970. Drove it till we needed a car that worked with a baby seat. They say now that R stands for rare. Original 1949 Harley Davidson with front and back crash bars and front and back bumpers. Original to the last nut and bolt and the very rare crossed oil lines. Painted it chrome yellow emron with black emron frame. 1959 Chevrolet biscayne 2 dr with a 1968 327 with Muncie 4 speed. Still got my 30 model A I bought when I was 14 for 350.00 and the man drove it around from in back of his service station and hooked it to my Dads truck. Still have the 30 model Chrysler CJ, 4dr sedan. Then there was the 1967 RS/SS 350 Camaro that my brother bought out of the dealership paint shop in 1968 qnd COMPLETELY ran into the ground.....as he has always done..... and sold for 250.00. Bill
  21. Had a chance to buy one of those babys one time. Was in a barn. Kick myself every time I see a 47 front grill. One of my very favorite cars. Good job on the paint. Now enjoy. Bill
  22. Ken Let me tease you a little. I have a 30 CJ too. 4 door. My car is unfinished and I've had it for almost 30 years. Back in the late 70"s I had money, (single), was living with Mom and Dad.... Working all the time. The car was going to be a show car...... My Dad said "Till I discovered women." Well I bought a lot of stuff for the car and one of the things I bought was an exact duplicate of original, cast bronze, chrome plated radiator cap. I saw it a few minutes ago in my top dresser drawer. I paid 95.00 for it, brand new, from Sherwood Kalenberg from North Hollywood CA in 1977. I think. I just went to a MAC computer and am still trying to figure out the photo program or I would post some pictures of the radiator cap. I have the old original on the car but the wings are broken off. I need a carburetor. Mine isn't the right one for the car. Sorry about the tease. Send me a private E Mail with your phone # Bill
  23. Put the Jeep on a lift. Just off the ground enough to clear the tires. Stay in the car with foot hovering over brake pedal and the service brake applied, HARD. Start the car and give it a little gas. Do this out side if possible but not on jack stands. Thats were I would start. Are you sure its the front end?? If it is, check the little balancing weights on ALL the drive shafts. They are usually spot welded to the shafts to compensate the rotating mass. Chances are that one of the drive shafts should have been rejected at the factory and some worker put the maximum weight on to balance the shaft and it was still out of balance, slightly. This large amount of weight got thrown off, (broken spot weld) and now you have an extreemly un balanced drive shaft either to the front differential or to the wheels on the front. Personally I had a bad experiance with a 2002 Jeep Cherokee and I'll stop there and be nice. The ole 258 6 cylinder is a great bullet proof motor but I would rather not get into the rest of the vehicle. Bill Harmatuk An old saw mill and pulp mill mechanic.
  24. I have a 327 that came out of a 68 Impala that has been rebuilt and is complete to the breather and fan. Came with a 4 barrel and single hump heads, from the factory. These small blocks are screamers. I had it in a 59 Biscayne with a Muncie 4 speed one time. Been pushing it around the garage for about 15 years now and it ain't stuck. I've been offered 650.00 for it because it cross refrences with Corvette, Nova, Chevelle and Impala. Have a good friend with a 67 vette with the same heads. 68 was the first year for the larger main crank journals. Tell ya what. Find a 283 or a COMPLETE 327 for 650.00. They are getting harder and harder to find just like the 67, 68, 69 Camaros and the 55, 56, 57 Chevrolets that were a dime a dozen one time. My 2 cents. Keep the change. Bill
  25. Some motors with vehicles attached to them I have owned and or now own are....... Cast Iron Duke Pan Head Flat Head Small Block ('68 327) a sceamer. Flat Head V-8 4 Banger Model A motor that knocks. Pan Cake Bill
