  1. I have 4 in excellant condition that came off a plain Jane 59 Biscayne. Wish I still had that car! I would say 58, 59, 60. Don't want to say this but the 2 hub caps aren't very presentable. Would'nt use them an my car. Sorry. just being honest. They've seen too many rubber hammers. The dog dish caps were usually on low option cars or cars that were ordered with no options at all for race use. Acually the caps are kind of rare because the first thing people did was throw the cheaper caps away and put baby moons, mags or full wheel covers (spinners)on to dress the ole lady up. I ordered a 79 Chev. Silverado step side with every available option and requested the cheapest wheel and hubcap Chevrolet made. I got white rims and dog dish caps. Went to Western Auto and ordered mags. Bill
  2. 4 barrel, 4 speed, dual exhaust. Bill
  3. Fatmyk You have a PM. The manual is yours. Give me an adress and I'll even pay postage, if you can use it. Bill H
  4. Just my opinion from years of pulling boat trailers with 3500# boats on them. If you log on to the Pathfinder Boats, (MPH),Maverick Hews, Pathfinder, web site and do a search, you will find lengthly discussions on the best trailer tire. More discussions than you want to read. By far the Maxxis is the best. Thats what I have now on a slightly overloaded, single axle, trailer hauling a 22ft Pathfinder boat with gas and a bunch (too much) gear. These tires wear fantastic also. Just keep them inflated correctly. Most problems come from people not keeping a close eye on tire pressures. Under is as bad as over. Bill H
  5. Let me check my collection. I'll let you know. I just gave a best friend a lifetime estate on a 1931 that will go on a Model A that his 14 year old son will eventually inherent from his granddad. If the car is sold I want my plate back. Bill
  6. In 1969 I bought a 1930 Model A. I was 14 years old. The old man started it up and hooked it to my Dad's truck. 350.00 (Worked on it night and day till I found out what girls were) I found an ole 1930 CJ-6 Chrysler, 4dr., tucked in the back of a garage in 1974. 47,000 original miles, NO rust (out),every original part. 1200.00 Still have them both. Bill
  7. Great job, big guy. Don't you want to finish a 30 CJ-6 ? ? Man what a pretty car and "pretty work" KEEP POSTING !
  8. TomT I am the "baby of the family". My Dad is alive and as well as well can be. Just in a nursing home. I think he's 87 now. E-Me if you like. The Holley 3 Barrel is definately a High Performance carb. I'll post a pict or 2. I have it mainly as a conversation piece. I think I've seen them somewere on the net for $300.00.
  9. Smell your oil and see if you have the oder of raw gas in it. You could be leaking gas in the cylinders and washing away the luberication. I would take a hard look at the carburetor. Might be leaking by. Needle valve on your float might not be seating. Year ago I had a friend that had "high torque fields" put into his starter on a hopped up chev. small block. Find someone that rebuilds starters and ask him what he thinks. (or if I'm crasy). My 2 cents. Good luck. I used to have a MINT 50 Dodge 1/2 ton truck. Was a Coke a Cola truck. The inside was yellow. It turned over slow when I pushed the starter but never failed to start. It would go when nothing else would.
  10. Got to start somewhere. Did'nt know you could get new ones. O. K. Now we have a starting point. Too nice to recycle. I'll find some one with a 55 Ford and give it to them. The local car club may have a use for it.
  11. Trinidad I'll get some pictures for ya as soon as I find my bumpers. I finally got the picture posting figured out. Bill
  12. What was the Holley 3 barrel used on?? I was told the Hemis and Yenco Camaro (aluminum 427) I know some one with a "like new" one hanging on his garage wall with vacuume secondary. the reason the carburetor wasn't popular was the lag/gag of the huge third barrel and the washing of the cylinder walls. Bill
  13. 1955 Ford Shop Manual. Was once in a 3 ring binder of some kind. Good to excellant condition. Covers EVERYTHING on a 55 Ford car with illustrations. $40.00 and I'll ship. bill@donnaandcompany.com (Cleaning out the storage building and sorting thru 53 years of collecting) Have you ever seen a hearse with a trailer hitch on it?? You can't take it with you and the kids and wife will throw it in the dumpster. Might as well let some one else enjoy some of this stuff.
  14. I have a 1923 Chevrolet Motor Company booklet I will part with, in good to excellent condition, describing the different Chevrolets made that year... "features and standard" options. What is it worth? I have a price in mind but I don't want to give it away. Wish I could figure out the picture posting. Bill
  15. My 30 Model CJ-6 has curved front bumpers and the cowl lamps mount directly on the edge of the cowl with a ball and socket type mount. You have either a 31 or these two items have been changed. My car is about 5/8ths restored, 47k miles, NO rustout, and I have a lot of stuff new or redone but a lot needs to be done. It runs but doesn't have the correct carburetor. Rhode Island Wiring copied my wiring harness back in the 70's for a pattern and made me a duplicate of original for somewere around half price. By the way... The car is coming home next week. Get'in her out of storage, finally. Bill H
  16. Here is the other Pictures of the Davis. This car is a Sedan. Body panels are thrown helter skelter in the car.
  17. Here's one for ya. This is sitting behind a chain link fence at a garage in Kinston N.C. Right beside Hyway 17. What a shame. Looks like the wood frame work for the body is completely gone. Has a 6 cylinder. Check out the swirl in the tail light glass. Don't know if it is for sale. Has been sitting in the same spot for over a year.
  18. Tim I have a 1930 CJ-6, 4 door. 1/3 restored. 41,000 mi. No rust out. Very staight. All kinds of new and replacement rubber,(from Lynn Steele),wiring from Rhode Island Wiring. Their CJ harness is a copy from mine, back in the '70's. Any how, My air cleaner ain't for sale. I can't find them but I have some pictures from Chrysler, also from the 70's that show the engine was black. On a CJ, at least. Best thing to do is contact someone from the WPC Club that has your year and model and ask about the paint.(Looks like you might have, already) Oh Yea. I need an original carburetor for a 1930 Chrysler 6 cylinder. Mine is some kind of replacement that doesn't match up to the bore of the intake. The mounting holes on the carb flange have been elongated. If you have or know of one that can be had reasonable, let me know. Good luck on the air cleaner. Sorry I can't help. Bill
  19. Have a pair of headlight rings for, I think, 1924 thru '27 Buick. Very restorable. No major dents, only light pressure dings on face. Nothing serious. All clips in place. Need rechroming. (as you can see) Make a reasonable offer. What are they worth to you?? Will pay shipping from N.C.
