  1. My suggestion, in terms of testing, would be to shine the beam from an older 2-cell flashlight at it and see what, if anything happens?
  2. Here is a current Milwaukee, WI billboard ad. I wonder how old the attorneys are?
  3. Keiser, Somehow I knew you were going to say that. Seems like a step backward, expect for the fact that 6V was the norm and 12V was the oddball (and more expensive due to law of supply and demand).
  4. Pray tell what was the voltage in use by Dodge prior to 1927?
  5. Guess I did not realize at the time I registered for a replacement that Kidde wanted the old extinguisher returned? At any rate, FedEx picked up the defective one today.
  6. Mine arrived today after being advised by Kidde on 11 Dec there was a delay in filling replacement requsts.
  7. While I have both types, I am more than old enough to recall when the clickers came onto the market. Their accuracy/reliability was questioned. I suspect it still is. I myself tend to put more trust in my beam-er.
  8. I don't need it. I want it! In a few short weeks am leaving the tundra of WI to try and find some warmth in FL.
  9. I have to agree, a whole lot of work went into this conversion. Why? I do not know?
  10. This is an easy one to answer, Oldsmobile! With luxury, sport and econo lines, it would be winner!
  11. Not being a Studebaker expert, can anyone educate me on the "why" of the three (3) white lamps on the rear of the car. Why not 2 or 4? Assume some are backup lights? Wondering?
  12. Second the "great research" reply. So, after all is said and done, where does this leave your 1942 models in terms of bright work?
  13. Looks as though it could be an -aftermarket- emergency brake light?
  14. What strikes me is the similarity in the case designs/markings. It gives one the impression the cases may all have been made at the same factory, just on a different day; sort of like current day automobiles!
  15. This car is located where? I ask as it bears a WI plate, but the ph. Nr. listed is one for NY state.
  16. Have never seen an oil viscosity gauge. Nor have I ever heard of Visco-Meter. Wonder how it works/measures? Is is just an oil pressure gauge with a different face? Here are a two links referencing a similar device - https://books.google.com/books?id=ccZMAQAAMAAJ&pg=PA93&lpg=PA93&dq=%22Visco-Meter%22&source=bl&ots=rkhjTNQHR9&sig=b7C_hXKuI3RERJ9S71i4eZde3WM&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiasrfu7PDWAhWCRCYKHfJhDoEQ6AEIYDAN#v=onepage&q=%22Visco-Meter%22&f=false https://books.google.com/books?id=VT0fAQAAMAAJ&pg=RA10-PA38&lpg=RA10-PA38&dq=%22Visco-Meter%22&source=bl&ots=1tPCs85GiX&sig=SBey9uwIaE5RXrkBjwpwfegbGeU&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwixqMqv7fDWAhWKKCYKHepJAnk4ChDoAQhHMAM#v=onepage&q=%22Visco-Meter%22&f=false

    Early 50s car?

I get to be the first to reply, but certainly not the last. The car is definitely a FORD. As for the year, 49-51. As for model, others shall have to answer. A 1951 Custom Victoria?
