  1. The GM convertibles that my parents had in the 50's & 60's all had black top bows.
  2. I would contact The Sloan Museum in Flint who has a lot of Flint history. Another place would be GM Factory 1 In Flint. They have quite extensive archives of GM and Flint history also. Links below. https://sloanlongway.org/automotive-research/ https://www.gmfactoryone.com/product/public/us/en/factory-one/archive-research.html
  3. Not to be the proof reader, but two thousands of an inch is .002". .0002" is two ten thousands of an inch last time I checked. Less clearance unless you are using very thin oil like 0-20 is hard on the engine and bearings, and probably even then.
  4. I disagree. There is both compression and torsional load on the spring. May not be "much", but there is a couple of loads on the spring. Let us know what it looks like and take pictures.
  5. What year did Ford go to demountable rims?
  6. Realistically, any oil today is better than the best oil in the day. I personally use 10W30 of any brand.
  7. Getting the oil pump out is a simple job. Just take the four bolts out that hold the pump to the pan and you are done. The big challenge is getting the end of the springs lined up correctly on installation.
  8. Getting multiple groups together is a good thing IMO. My wife and I attended a joint Christmas party with the SE Mich Buick Club group and the VMCCA local chapters. There were over 80 persons there and everyone had a good time with many of us belonging to both clubs. We are planning on doing it again next year.
  9. I spent Sunday afternoon cleaning off horizontal surfaces on one of my "work benches".
  10. And here is another style that you can use with the engine running. Just place the grooved area against the plug wire and it will show if that plug is firing. Works well. It was made by/for Champion Sparkplug Co.
  11. Here is the AC Spark Plug version. They are the best for checking the single coil pack engines. I have three of them for testing the V6 GM engines. Part # ST-125
  12. I have the same set up on one of my cars and I too have been very happy with it.
  13. Assembly plants use vacuum bleeding for brakes.
  14. Here is my car theme sign. Not for sale even though none of my Buicks have power steering.
  15. I know people that the bucket is what they used all of the time. I will admit that I use a bucket when I go the salvage yard because it is easy to carry or put on a two wheeler cart. I empty it out every time I get home and put all of the tools away in their correct place. As my grandmother used to say, " A place for everything and everything in it's place".
  16. Looks like the wheel spokes are spring loaded. Interesting design.
  17. Why wait. Here ya go. https://store.aaca.org/customer/account/login/?_ga=2.130706255.1745025531.1667235382-2077704501.1661727267&_gl=1*111tz67*_ga*MjA3NzcwNDUwMS4xNjYxNzI3MjY3*_ga_QQE5Y9S8MK*MTY3MDA3NTI0NS4xLjAuMTY3MDA3NTI0NS4wLjAuMA..
