  1. Many customers DO NOT RECOMMEND Bumper Boyz.
  2. Driverless cars test site: http://www.freep.com/story/money/cars/2017/03/11/willow-run-autonomous-vehicle-center/97961930/ Part of the original factory, the right turn, was saved and will become the new location for Yankee Air Museum, to be called Michigan Aerospace Museum: http://www.savethebomberplant.org/about-the-campaign/ http://www.savethebomberplant.org/the-new-yankee-air-museum/
  3. Surprised that nobody discussed Agreed vs. Stated Value. http://www.rigmetroins.com/blog/collector-cars-agreed-value-vs-stated-amount-insurance
  4. Didn't know the gentleman but sounds like he enjoyed a full life and as much gave back to others. RIP Sir!
  5. In https://www.caesars.com/linq/things-to-do/the-auto-collections?utm_campaign=GMB&utm_source=google&utm_medium=local&utm_term=The Auto Collections&utm_content=attractions We were in Vegas last April and enjoyed this place as much or better than the Linq car collection. http://hollywoodcarsmuseum.com/ Free to visit a small grouping of cars: http://www.countskustoms.com/ Not a car museum but still very cool - you need to make reservations, best to go at night when they are lit: http://www.neonmuseum.org/ Then go over and drive through Old Downtown Vegas where there are many restored neon signs. My recommendation is to skip Fremont Street Experience. Think drunks, tattoos, more drunks, overcrowded, tourist trap. Another interesting place to visit: http://themobmuseum.org/
  6. Unfortunately, other than Antique Roadshow, any other program I want to watch is one they utilize to harangue visitors to pledge funds. This involves long periods of non-programming. And I made the mistake once of sending money, thereafter I was contacted to the point of 'never again'. Like others, I don't have much use for pretty much any new programming, especially the news. My tv is invariably turned to TCM or MeTV which shows vintage shows featuring vintage cars, of course without the prolific profanity.
  7. My preference is the phone number for Hagerty Road Service.
  8. No luck with Century Spring; the response indicated they don't provide automotive parts. Did get a response from www.hagenautoparts.com who I had contacted a while ago. Was told they have the part but I will call to confirm they are not assuming standard passenger car is the same.
  9. Thank you, I will contact them.
  10. Kanter? No thank you!!!! 'Complete brake rebuild kits' - not quite; past experience (burn me once...) indicated several necessary pieces were not provided but they did offer to sell separately with an additional shipping charge.
  11. We have parking for 15 vehicles (being used by vehicles, not 'stuff') and our daily drivers sit outside. Remote start is a great thing.
  12. Working on brakes for a 1939 Cadillac Series 75. Not the same as standard passenger cars, everything is bigger, more heavy duty for the weight of this beast (plus its armor plated with bullet proof glass). Looking for this spring or even complete hardware kits for the front brakes and likely will be looking for parts for the rear when I get to them. I've tried the usual sources with no luck. Any suggestions?
  13. The local billionaire who owns the building where I work is a nice guy although many describe him as eccentric. Back in the day, he owned MANY beautiful & expensive cars and lots of other 'stuff'. He decided instead to give away his money to charitable purposes - schools, universities, religious organizations, etc. and has actively been doing that for many years now. He still has a couple very nice homes, and of course the office building, but most of the cars are gone now. I do occasionally eat lunch in the cafeteria looking out across the atrium at the 1942 Buick Convertible in the upper reception area.
  14. auburnseeker - if the person left feedback about LENSES and the auction they won was for radiator hose clamps, then possiby Ebay should remove the feedback if requested. You have to make a complain specifically requesting the feedback removal. Several years ago I sold a car that I described as having brake problems - they didn't work. Buyer gets the car and posts negative feedback because the brakes don't work. Contacted Ebay and yes, they removed the entire feedback, didn't just make it neutral. If you are concerned it may be worth your time. http://andrewminalto.com/ebay-negative-feedback-removal/ http://www.ebay.com/gds/Removing-Negative-Feedback-on-Ebay-/10000000012401440/g.html
  15. And Peter, if you really are a sucker for an Orphan, this is a show you've got to visit one time or another. http://wardsauto.com/technology/17th-annual-ypsilanti-orphan-car-show#slide-0-field_images-851061
  16. Unfortunately, the MPL that I provided the link, only goes back to 1957 for hinges (spring is same, all models 1954 & 1955). Based on other applications, its highly unlikely to be an Eldo only part which is good news for your friend. I have older books in my library in the barn but inside for the evening. I can check tomorrow if you haven't already found your answer.
  17. Wheelbase 118" Overall length 202" Front tread 58" (middle of tire to middle of tire) Rear tread 60" 3220 lbs Height 69" Width 73 1/2" Snuff?
  18. Interchange? You can check application at least within Cadillac models using this Master Parts List: http://www.modifiedcadillac.org/documents/Shop_Manuals_and_Illus_Catalogs/Master Parts List thru 1964/ And Illustrated Parts Catalog: http://www.modifiedcadillac.org/documents/Shop_Manuals_and_Illus_Catalogs/Parts Illus Catalog thru 1970/ Forgot we added a 55 Shop Manual too: http://www.modifiedcadillac.org/documents/Shop_Manuals_and_Illus_Catalogs/1955 Shop Manual/
  19. The first and second on the right are the most valuable and desirable. (that's a joke, son)
  20. Not 4 but when I was 5, sis & I were worked together to mix mortar in a wheelbarrow for dad to set blocks for our new family room. I remember it well.
  21. Another consideration if storing in an enclosed trailer is theft. I personally know 3 people who lost their cars when their trailers were stolen including a well known 1947 Cadillac convertible that disappeared in SE Michigan several years ago. It had previously participated in many CLC & CCCA events. https://history.gmheritagecenter.com/wiki/index.php/The_Standard_of_the_World..._1947_Cadillac_Series_62_Convertible And yes, two of the trailers were in locked storage yards. Don't know specifics about the third one.
  22. I've noticed more often than not, its a FedEx truck which is in a wreck, damaged, slid off the road, hits a bridge etc. compared to UPS. At least the ones that make the news.
  23. I can't get the letters (pics) to open but as I've heard/read what they are about not a big deal. This pertains to both Motor Muster in June for the 1933 to late 1970s vehicles and the Old Car Festival in September for 1932 and older vehicles. I've heard that part of the reason is some new development by FoMoCo and that they (GV) is losing some real estate. I thought perhaps the land they were losing would be the horse pastures or something near to Southfield Road, can't figure out what part of the Village would otherwise be in jeopardy. Crazy the price increase, reduction in number of passes from 4 to 2 and that if your vehicles is not approved, you're out the 'application fee' of $50. It wasn't that long ago the price increased from $0 to $25, as Terry suggested, this could be the beginning of the end for both of these wonderful shows.
