  1. Now I can't wait until my copy arrives. Thanks for the "heads up" Marty. Rog
  2. My wife and I visited the ACD museum a number of years ago and we still have wonderful memories of our visit. When I walked among those beautiful cars, I felt I was in a time warp, back in the '30s. I strongly recommend that anyone who hasn't visited the museum to put it on their bucket list. It's that good. Rog
  3. I thought it looks like a Locomobile to me. But then, I've been wrong before. Rog
  4. Regarding my '59 Studebaker Lark, people ask "who made it?", do you drive it?, who made the motor. That's interesting because, when I answer, Studebaker, I get a strange look. Then they ask, "really, who make the engine, Ford?". They can't believe that Studebaker made their own engines. Actually, many folks don't even know the Studebaker name. Rog
  5. Fascinating video. I was freezing just watching all that snow. Rog
  6. Isn't it interesting that some of the most beautiful cars ever built were built during the depression. Rog
  7. Try to consult the "Old Cars Price Guide." Many libraries have copies in the research dept. That would give you a good idea of the car's value. Rog
  8. You would probably do better by going on the Ford Barn website, or the Model A Ford Club of America. Also, the Model A Restorers Club has a classified section. Rog
  9. Yes, the chrome on new cars during the Korean War was very thin. This was quite evident on the chrome bumpers that all cars had. Rog
  10. Unfortunately, we can't legislate against stupidity. Rog
  11. Yes, something tells me it needs a little work. By the way, I got the joke. Rog
  12. I own a '30 Ford Model A and I was born in '37. When I was a kid, during WWII, my dad drove his '31 Model A Cabriolet most of the time because of gas rationing. Boy, did I love that car. After the war he sold it to a good friend who was discharged from the Navy and needed a vehicle to go to work. Well, those memories of that Model A stayed with me all my adult life, until I bought my own Model A about a dozen years ago. Now, my 39 year old son had his eyes on my "A". He'll own it some day. All's right with the world. Rog
  13. I love Click & Clack. They brought sanity to auto repair and car talk. I'll miss them. Rog
  14. Congratulations on selling your beautiful Model A. The price you were asking was very fair and I had no doubt that you would have no trouble selling the car. It reminds me of the '31 Cabriolet that my dad owned during WWII. I loved that car. Rog
  15. If you get a chance to buy the car, you should jump on it. It's a beauty. This kind of opportunity doesn't come all the time, in fact it's rare. If such an opportunity like this were presented to me, I'd grab it. Rog
  16. I'm sorry that I can't help you but I'd suggest that you contact the Antique Studebaker Club. I would think that someone there can help you. Rog
  17. One small correction. Oldsmobile wasn't the first auto company to reach their 100th anniversary. It was Studebaker, which reached 100 years in 1952. Of course, they started in 1852, building horsedrawn wagons. Rog
  18. I agree that it's some kind of customized Crosley station wagon. No more, no less. Rog
  19. I remember, back in the '50s, Motor Trend magazine used to have a classified section toward the back of the magazine. Ads like the Duesenberg one were pretty common then. If we only knew what would happen. Rog
  20. You brought back a lot of good memories. When I was in high school, my friend Rich and I used to take the train into NYC (from Long Island) to go to the GM Motorama. They always put on a terrific show and we got to bring home some of their automotive literature. Never brought a camera with me though. So, thanks for those neat photos. Rog
  21. I remember the first Hershey meet I attended was in '63. There was only one flea market field, outside the stadium and the car show was inside the stadium. I had a great time and actually found some good stuff in the flea market. Even though I still love going to Hershey, it's gotten way too big for me. Rog
  22. Thanks for those terrific pictures. Rog
