  1. That makes sense, that would account for the rear amber lights and low mileage, and rather rough condition
  2. Kinda weard amber lights on the side and rear of the car. What are they for? anybody know UK law?
  3. A majority of batteries carried by Wal-Mart, Pep-Boys, ORilelys, Auto Zone are made by the same supplier. They are usually made by Johnson Controls and just marketed under a different private lable. Exide is also a major supplier of private lable batteries.
  4. I see where the club needs a class in booklearnen at next years National meet in Danvers. Jim you can hold the class so practice, Chuck
  5. If you would go to the Reatta Division web site at www.reatta.org and look up the newsletters, you will find several parts venders that will have that part available. There should not be a problem getting the part
  6. My 2 cents. I think that the idea of a movie/car builder class is a great idea. Lots of the 60s custom jobs are still around and so is their builders. Builders like Barris, Starbird, Cushenbery, Big Daddy Roth, Coddington and the list goes on. All of these guys made a contribution to the car culture as we know it today, while they don't fit in with the factory original stuff they should have a class of their own. Most of the builders are still alive and would be a great resource while they were still here to document. Car clubs will have to be all inclusive in the future to continue to grow Just a thought Chuck Kerls
  7. Brian you said it and all Buick owners need to read your post. The Bugle is first rate, Pete does a great job and the Officers of the BCA go out of their way to make it a great club. I have been able to make every national meet since 2004 and hopefully I wont miss one in the future. It really pains me when non members make negative comments about the BCA and the divisions and chapters. Thanks to the BOD for all they do, it is a tough job and I dont see many people saying thanks. The cruise to Jewell last summer will be hard to beat for a long time Chuck Kerls
  8. Mike I am Chuck Kerls and I am with the Reatta Division. My other half and I have a great time with our Buicks. I try to never stir the pot but sometimes it just happens. Always have a good time at the National meets, have met lots of folks and it is always good to see everybody I would like to see everybody put a photo of their cars on the gallery here on the website. Mine are there Chuck Kerls booreatta@cox.net
  9. The Reattas are judged on the 400 point system and all of the information is found at www.reatta.org A copy of the modern vehicle and a copy of the Reatta judging manual is also on the website. There is also information there to join the Reatta division if you dont already belong Chuck
  10. No I have not found anyone to do the stand, I dont think the wood part would be an issue but the Pewter plaque would not be something that could be repoped. I only know of one pewter car with out a stand and it is in Arizona someplace. Tom do you have one with out the stand? Chuck
  11. It depends on what you spent for your last running car. I dont have the exact figure but I dont think you can buy a running Reatta for that amount Chuck
  12. I have used oven cleaner, works well on glass but use caution dont get it on other surfaces. In order to see if the dirt is on the outside use an up and down motion and inside use side to side so you can tell if the problem is on the inside or outside.
  13. Good luck, one sold a couple of months ago and went for over $big bucks. They are extremely rare but if you keep watching this forum or ebay and then the bidding will go crazy. I have only seen a handful in many years
  14. Do you have any history on your car. Where did it come from were you the first owner. Any information might help in finding who made the cars and how many were made. Thanks

Vincent Vega could you please contact me either by phone or email booreatta@cox.net or 316-655-1099 Thanks Chuck Kerls
  16. Hey Tom I don't know about the legal limit of tire age but I can tell you that a neighbor last summer had a tire blow out when the car was just sitting in the garage. We heard a sound like a gun shot and went over to his house and one of the tires on the car had a whole in the sidewall. I asked him how old were the tires as they looked new. He said they were about 10 years old and only had about 2000miles on them. The tread was measured at 11/32. The tires were Goodyear tires. I put new tires on my Riviera for nationals, there is no sense in taking any chances for $400.00 In my mind safety is still number !
  17. Jayson, I think I have owned most of these cars......except the Gremlin....Oh my, and then there is a VW bug, blue Vega, red Plymouth Roadrunner,Pontiac LeMans, a couple of Cougars, a boattail Riviera, and a Chevy truck with camper. I only see about 6 foreign cars but might be more. Thanks for the memories Chuck

    brake issue

Now that you have the car and a few issues it would be a good time to join the BCA and the Reatta Division. We are the fastest growing Division in the BCA and all Reatta owners are welcome THanks Chuck Kerls
  19. Jayson I think these only work for the turn signal in the rear of the car and do not have anything to do with the turn white lights in the front Chuck
  20. I have dealt with this issue several times and have found that there were several different kinds. One set that I have will blink the middle of the light and alternate with the sides. I think that the center of the light should stay lit and not flash. Everytime that I see a Riviera in a salvage yard I always see if they are still in the trunk and most of them are. I have several pairs of them for spares for my 84. Post your needs on the Reatta Division and look for Daves89, he has found several for me in the past. You need to try to get a matching pair so that both sides do the same thing Both or the relays are just under the side trunk material on the right side. Not hard to get to at all Good Luck Chuck Kerls booreatta@cox.net
  21. This is Texas we are talking about? one fish I think not when I was a kid I caught a fish that was so big that it lowered the water level of the lake 6 inches oh my
  22. I think you are right reflections can do funny things
  23. well stuff happens I am just hoping that the car still is in one piece. With that big earthquick down there. I have a friend that lives there and he had a lot of damage and is now staying in his car at night. His house is mostly ok but there are still lots of aftershocks and he is afraid to stay in the house at night. I have not heard about Cliff. Chuck
