  2. Thank you Rick, I think you will have a bunch of hungry members at Ames. We appreciate it. See ya in Ames Chuck Kerls
  3. I see that Mr Rick Young posted the winner of the Membership contest and the Reatta Division has won. I wanted to say thanks to all Reatta Division members and also a big thanks to Rick Young. Lets have a big turn out of Reattas at the National meet in Ames this summer. It is nice to know that there will not be any charge for the Reatta Rendezvous dinner this year thanks to Rick. The Rendezvous is scheduled for Friday night the same night as the cookout. It would be great if we would all send a PM to Rick thanking him. Who all is going to Ames See ya in Ames Chuck Kerls
  4. I cant argue the fact that I need new friends, but I would bet that there are a lot of members in our club that don't use a computer, it is more than we know. I don't know the numbers but I have talked to members who are over 60 plus and they don't use the computer, or are very uncomfortable using computers. To older members computers are not user friendly. Lets pose that question at the next BCA meeting at Ames and find out.
  5. The hard copy is the only way to go, I hand one out at almost everycar show I go to during the year. I have a lot of friends that dont have computers and they would not be able to get a copy unless they got the hard copy. Just my opinion Chuck
  6. Dave I didn't think you were old enough to have kids even in high school WOW. Why don't you have the wedding in Ames and then you could buy dinner for 4000 of your closest friends. We would all appreciate that. Congrats and we will miss ya Chuck
  7. Dave the last I heard, Ron Gill had a bunch of the ok to ship decals. I think that most of the stuff you have is pretty common but hang on to it. It is a nice addition to your cars. I have not seen many of the black cards lately, I think they were fillers for the saleperson to insert their business card in the slots at the time the car was sold the first time. Are you planning to make it to Ames this summer, we might get a free meal, will know more in a week or so Chuck
  8. you are correct the 88-89 came with the temp plastic keys one for the door and one for the ignition, while the 90-91 came only with the door key
  9. For all of my Reatta friends who might have an interest in old SCCA and Indy racing, Some of Jack Hinkle's trophies are going to be auctioned off. I made a post at the General Discussion site in case any of you have an interest Thanks Chuck Kerls booreatta@cox.net
  10. See my post at AACA General Discussions if you have an interest in Jack Hinkle trophies which will be auctioned off on May 23, 2010
  11. For those race fans on the forum, it might be of some interest that some of the trophies that were won by Jack Hinkel are to be auctioned off at a car show in May in Wichita Kansas. For those of you who are not familiar with the name Jack Hinkel we was a wealthy oil, banker and race car driver in the fifties. He owned the cars that sat on the front row of the Indy 500 race in 1951-1955. His car sat on the pole in 54 and let 47 laps before finishing 3rd. The trophies are from several different races around the country and were donated by Jacks wife to benefit the ARC of Sedgwick County Kansas. They will be auctioned off at a car show on May 23 at old cow town in Wichita. More information can be found at www.arccarshow.com Besides the auction it should also be a great fun car show with the cars inside old Cow town in Wichita which will make for some great photos of the cars with 1870 buildings in the background Hope to see some of you there CHuck Kerls booreatta@cox.net
  12. Come as you are and the car you have, Its not about the car, as much as it is about the social gathering. You and your car need to come to Ames. We are waiting to hear to see if we have won the contest and If we have then its all about the party. We still have some rooms available at last count. There will be lots of cars that the owners dont think that they are quality enough to be on the showfield, but who cares. It yours, you like it, its a Buick and it is welcome.
  13. There is a complete portfolio on ebay. Has all 3 major item pen, flashlight. and tire gauge. Item number 300410093598 I will be interesting to see how much this sells for. I cant remember the last time there was a complete one listed. It has 6 days to go
  14. One of our members who owns several Reattas has looked at the 91 and he said the dealer told him the car was sold. In looking at the e-bay listing it appears that the listing was ended without meeting the reserve. The total overall condition of the car is very good. There are a few items that need attention but nothing that could not be fixed for a couple of hundred dollars and most could be fixed in just a few min. The car has minor road rash on a couple of wheels around the edges but the paint on all of the wheels is good. There is a non Delco battery in the car and the 2 wing fastners at the back of the engine are missing, not uncommon for Reattas. The Drivers seat shows a little damage on the stiching but very minor. There is no rust on the underside of the car. Bottom line if someone purchased the car they got a really good deal, if the car ends up for sale somewhere else, it is a good car and the asking price is a good value. I hope this helps and thanks to our member who spent his time looking at this car Chuck
  15. we have a member who is going to look at this car tomarrow and hopefully we get the correct information. If it is a good car then have at it, if the car has issues then we need to know about them. Time will tell
  16. boy I agree the car looks very clean and most likely it is worth the buy it now price. everything looks great with very little wear if any. It has 16 way drivers seat but I don't see a cd player which would make the car complete. I hope it goes to a good home as that color and mileage is very desirable. I would consider it if I had the ready funds and a willing wife to say YES, but I wont live that long. Somebody will get a really good looking car Good Luck
  17. Are any shirts going to be available with a pocket?
  18. What snow this is spring.................
  19. I had a 71 Kadet. It had a bunch of miles and it was a good thing that I lived on a farm,,,,,lots of talent with baling wire.
  20. When you join the BCA and Reatta Division make sure you try to make the National Meet in Ames Iowa. It is not that far from Indiana. We are hoping to have a bunch of Reattas at the National. Chuck Kerls
  21. On all of the Reattas that I have owned or looked at the tube was only over the battery, I questioned why and was told the battery gave off a gas that caused issues with the brace. I have not ever seen a car with the plastic that covers the brace on the air cleaner box
  22. Dont fall for the other big ones Blinker Fluid High speed muffler bearings electric light bulb oil
  23. You are correct that was posted by Barney several years ago when everybody was looking for one. I still have not found one. I would bet that most were just tossed in the trash Chuck
  24. You are right it does not make any sense.......I meant to say that you would have to apply to the BCA for membership by midnight.....sorry I aint that smart, need more book learnin
