2. Hi, Ted... Spring National Meet, Southeastern Division. May 10-12, 2007 New Bern, NC Hosted by: North Carolina Region's "First Capital Chapter". I attended the 2002 Annual Grand National in New Bern. Without doubt, one of the most interesting meets I ever attended. Cars were placed within the very historic streets of New Bern. Scenery is beautiful along the Neuse River. (Within the header at the top of the forum, click on "Community, then, Local Clubs". Scroll down to the North Carolina Region. Click on First Capital Chapter. You will see "2002 show photos".) Regards, Peter J...

6. Hi, Bob... I agree to go to the Sheraton web site. In the past, I had no less than 4 occasions where the clerk will check the dates you request, see that the hotel is booked, or, partially booked by an AACA Region/Chapter. The clerk then says sorry we are booked. Problem with phoning, is, you are at the mercy of an uninformed clerk. For example, the Hagerstown Meet some years ago. I phoned about 3 times and was told they are booked. On a business trip, I stopped at the Clarion for a face-to-face attempt to make a reservation. Even then, the clerk said sorry we are booked. It took 10 minutes for me to get the point across that "AACA and the Region/Chapter Name", are one in the same for a reservation. The manager got involved and said "wow, we were telling people for 3 weeks we were booked and all those people went to surrounding hotels". Make sure to mention "AACA and the Region/Chapter name". 12. Fran Shore, Library & Research Director, forwarded: __________________________________________________ Here are two photos of our happy winners, Art and Arlene Griffin with the Solstice . They drove it to the meet in Montgomery, Alabama. I asked Arlene if they had put the top down as yet and she remarked; "we have luggage." It is such a jazzy looking car and it was permitted to be parked right at the edge of the show field where it could be seen and enjoyed by the attendees. Fran Shore (See attached photos)

20. Hi, Kevin... Thank you for the post. I went back to the Hershey Program book and there is one "Paul Blasinsky, Carmichaels, PA" noted and a trade name of "Blasinsky Brothers, Carmichaels, PA". They were at location "GDH 11-20". Regards, Peter J...
21. Hi, Bill... Discussed your query with our metallurgical staff. First, agree with Doug (nearchocolatetown)that 60-62C is an extreme. Second, agree with Doug, again, that a sample of a worn out tappet could be checked in a few minutes. If there is one available, the door is open for you to send it to me and we could perform a "destructive" microstructure analysis "non-gratis". At least you would know for certain which route to go. Back in 1916, they certainly did not have the technology of available metallurgical properties of today. Case hardening is like flame hardening in the sense of what is the desired depth one wishes to attain? We produce castings (Gear blanks, for example) that spec out .125 flame hardening of the O.D. gear teeth area. Again, if you can find a used tappet, I will have our guys do a microstructure analysis. Send an e-mail (below) and I will provide an address if you are interested. Regards, Peter J...
22. Hi, Bob... Just checked the Hershey 2006 program by town and the Cadillac/LaSalle section to no avail. No listings for Masontown, or, Uniontown. Hopefully, someone will come up with a contact. Regards, Peter J...
23. Hello, Bill. Will discuss your query with our Metallurgical Director at work tomorrow for his input. I have some thoughts tonight that lean towards Choice #2, however, do not want to steer you in the wrong direction. Regards, Peter J...
24. Hi, Terry...hope all is well. How about "Verdone's Custom Stainless Casting" (I pasted his info from his web site below). Jere Verdone has a booth at the Annual Meeting Trade Show and gives a seminar/presentation, too. He and Marge are located in Nemanstown, PA (about 18 miles from where I live), or, about 35 miles East of Hershey. He reproduces door handles, cranks, etc. Regards, Peter J... ____________________________________________ SERVING THE ANTIQUE AUTO HOBBY THROUGH INNOVATIVE & IMAGINATIVE CUSTOM STAINLESS STEEL CASTING Since 1970, we are a small operation casting small, mostly pre 1945, non-precision parts for antique cars.. We make replications, not duplication. We take your old worn or broken piece and replicate it in stainless steel. We provide the part fully polished, as required, but we do no machine work. While some holes can and are cast in the pieces, drilling and tapping, etc. are the responsibility of the buyer. We have thousands of patterns for all different makes and models. Give us a call to see if we have a pattern of the part you need. If not we would need an old original to work from. Our aim is to provide mostly unavailable parts to individual car owners at the lowest cost to the purchaser. As such, we do not knowingly sell to jobbers who would step on our prices at the expense of the individual antique car owner. There is never a "set-up" fee or so called "tooling" fee. Cost of a cast stainless part is comparable to having an old part plated. NO CREDIT CARDS ACCEPTED. 25. Susan, thank you for bumping Scott's thread to the top. (1928 Peerless) Tom, our AACA Library & Research Center could very easily be the source for you to start. On the Main Page, click on "Library". A literature / information request form is noted. The AACA retains a full-time staff for assistance.
