Hi, Terry... Fran & John Shore and myself really did not have much time to walk around. We manned our AACA stand pretty much all day, leaving just to get some chow. We spoke with various South Jersey Region folks and they expressed great satisfaction with the amount of vendors present. I arrived around 8:30 and the vendors were all set up and doing business. One gent told us the vendors were selling very well. The traffic was backed up for about 1-2 miles in both directions with people coming to the event. By the way, the South Jersey Region really extended the welcome mat to us. Provided a nice building to sell tickets, promote the Library and AACA functions. Please note that it is now being held at the Salem County Fairgrounds, which is almost within eyesight of the former location, Cowtown Rodeo. Personally, I enjoy the AACA Judging system as it forces me to do my homework and own work to show the car as it left the factory. Concours events are focused on appearance more than correct vehicle construction from the factory. (Yes, I showed at Concours events in the past. The judges asked that I close the trunk for judging, not for alignment, but, appearance. They did not even look at the engine or under-carriage.) With the AACA Judging system, I have always taken the approach: "If I see something wrong, then, a judge can see something wrong". I received the "highlighted" judging sheet in 1998, the first time I showed at an AACA National Meet (Received a 2nd Junior that year). Took the sheet to the car on a quiet day and looked at every area highlighted. Worked over the Winter fixing many things I saw that needed attention. It was quite easy to see improvement needed on every highlighted area. Really enjoyed this system as it created "the hunt" scenario. Received another 2nd Junior in 1999, however, with fewer "highlighted" areas. Then, after having fun within the process of elimination, received a 1st Junior in 2000 and coasted up the ladder since. "Felt more satisfaction via the AACA System, than, if some judge, or, club offical would do my work for me by pointing out every deduction". Personally, I would not have enjoyed "the hunt" if a judge told me what was wrong, or, how many points were deducted. It is really a simple mission statement of the AACA: "...as it left the factory." Our system is far from perfect, however, it is a highly respected system within the hobby worldwide. Just my 2 cents and my experience with the AACA... West, were you and your friends Triumph mechanics at one time? Had to ask the question. The sequence of photos brings back memories as that is exactly how the Lucas Shop Manual directed a mechanic to replace a rear tail light bulb on a TR6..."Tear it apart starting at the front until you eventually meet up with the tail light". Click on "Search" within the header above. In the left column, click on "Technical Questions". On the right, enter "Cork Tank Sending Units". Skip User Name. "Newer than: Enter 4 years. Older than: Enter 1 week". Click on "submit". You can play with the "Search Words" to narrow the field. There are many repetitive questions, of which, are archived on this AACA Forum from years of input by some very knowledgeable people. Hi, Terry... I was thinking about switching the TR6 to synthetic, especially, after the seminar about 2 years ago in Philly. The presenter was 110% confident with the benefits of synthetic, citing his Mustangs all had it. May want to do a search? Hit "Search" in the header --(left column) hit "AACA Technical Questions" --Keyword "synthetic brake fluid" (In subject) --Username (leave blank) --Date Range: Newer than "5 Years" Older than "1 Week" --hit Submit There are quite a few discussions on synthetic.
