  1. A real scare for sure, most happy you are feeling better. Trouble often comes in threes, hope you are out of the woods now.
  2. This appears to be almost the same car.......both are very nice. I really miss my ‘48 Packard.
  3. I agree........my Cabriolet looked much more sleek and sporty with rear spare. However, I did prefer side mounts on my Phaeton. Both have new caretakers now.
  4. That car needs a sticker in the back window that says “Follow Me To Montgomery Wards” I agree, a blast from the past, mine was a ‘76 (with sticker!). First new car I bought.......
  5. Hello John, I recall sometime last year a Dort speedster was advertised on C/L or Facebook Marketplace. It was in the MN/Iowa area. Is that the car you are researching?
  6. You are staying safe and staying healthy AND entertaining many of us who are finding your barn project very interesting. Thank you for your updates. Very best of wishes for you and Anna and........don’t work tooooo hard!!😀
  7. Nice pictures Keith......you made the 82 yr. old gal look great! Here is a quote from John Mereness that I like.....great simple advice that I think you followed quite well. “Basically, enjoy your car, make it better every time you touch - little stuff, and after you have driven it a while then make more major decisions.”
  8. A nice overall car that needs some deficiencies taken care of.......it is, however, the definition of “plain Jane”.
  9. Looks like a home made hot air heater to me. I do not see an outlet in the passenger compartment photos. My Model A has an accessory hot air heater which works excellent.....extends my driving season, especially with the Mrs. along.
  10. My friends often tell me it’s the Radio station I listen to that drives them away! I live in the woods....I also have a 10 x 12 shed behind my shop for the lawn mower etc and I do get mice in there so they are around the area. The 5 gallon bucket device works very well there.
  11. Try this.....leave a radio on in your shop/garage 24/7. I have done this fro 31 years now in the two shops I have had over these years an I have NEVER had a mouse in my shop. Really. I learned this from an old time mechanic in my town. In the many times I have touted this I have only known one person who tried it. He has not had a mouse in his shop since.
  12. Many years ago when I was in my infancy of Model A ownership (early 80’s) a club member set my points with a matchbook. I then kept some of these, pictured below, in the car. These were my fathers, from 1958. As I state in my profile, he was a car salesman at this dealership. Unfortunately he passed away in a single car accident in October 1958, coming home from work in a Volkswagen Beetle.
  13. I have a friend near the location of that car who may check it out today. If I hear anything I will post it.
  14. I find it interesting that ‘48-‘50 Packards are much maligned for this styling but to my (aging) eyes many cars from this era, including this one, look quite similar. I call it the “bathtub look”. It is a style and era that I particularly like as those type of cars were all over the streets during the time of my youth. I do like this one.......
  15. My original bodied 1929 150-a was assembled at the factory using a modified roadster cowl. I sold it to a person on this forum in 2010.
  16. Several times when my wife and I are at a car show she has been told “it is nice you come to the car show with .your father” or she has been asked “did your dad restore that car?”. Ugh....I’m 66, she 64.
  17. HW.....what would you suspect this car will hammer at? Maybe 15K? Tough market for those type of cars. I do not feel BAT is the right place to sell that car, speaking from experience.
  18. Very handsome car...great color choice! Love the 20’s cars with the brougham body style.
  19. There is a 2020 Corvette running around here that is close to that Cadillac color.....it is called “Zeus Bronze Metallic”. Have not seen many brown cars the last few years.
