  1. I have always loved the lighted hood ornament on the Pontiacs. My father was a car salesman at Arrow (!) Pontiac on University Ave in St. Paul back in the late 50’s. Whenever he came home in a Pontiac with a lighted ornament we would go out after dark and he would take me for a short ride so I could see it. That is a very nice car for the $$.
  2. Here is one I tried to buy about 10 years ago. Grandpa was going to restore it someday. It had been sitting in his garage since 1953. Well, Grandpa passed a couple of years ago and Grandma gave it to a grandson. The next thing you know it was being parted out, keeping only the body for himself for a hot rod. Oh, well.....
  3. Perhaps this occurs more than I realize but recently a Model A 400-a popped up for sale on several internet sites. Pictures confirmed that it was one of my former A’s that I sold in 2002. Since my ownership the car has been repainted and motor rebuilt, it looks great. Surprisingly the asking price is not much more than what I sold it for in 2002. I actually sold it through this forum (buy/sell). Anyone have an interesting story to tell along these lines?
  4. With my hoist setup (beam in rafters) I have to pull the nose off of any car which I remove the engine. Then I have to roll the car back. Always nervous when that huge lump of iron is hanging in the air. I would pull the nose on the Plymouth if I was doing the install...I think the job would be easier that way. Sounds like you are headed in that direction.
  5. Last spring I found these two cars which were disassembled back in the early 90’s by the same person. He partly restored the 1919 T Touring. He restored the chassis on the 1928 A Phaeton but the rest is unrestored. He stopped work in 2001 and they sat ever since. He advertised the 1919 T for “parts”. I bought the 1919 to reassemble it this winter and will go back next spring and buy the Model A to restore during the next few winters. YES, the Model A is parked in front of the Model T, under all those cardboard boxes!
  6. Finished tacking upholstery strips on my “COVID 19 car “ , the 1919 Ford Touring I bought last spring to work on this winter. Then, I went exploring to see why there was no brake adjustment on the RR wheel.....look ma, no brake shoes!
  7. You have already convinced me (w/ great videos!) to make a vintage Mopar my next purchase. I’ll get there soon. One tip I learned about the guide pins I used for the trans removal....cut a slot in the end, makes it easier to install them (especially from underneath the car) with a small screwdriver. Years ago I had to do four (!) clutches in my ‘69 Camaro 4 spd car, no room to work. I think I still have the trans part number stamped on my chest from resting it there upon removal! Ugh......
  8. Last week here in Minnesota was beautiful......changing to rain then snow tomorrow evening + snow on Tuesday. One last run today for the season with my Model T. I do have side curtains which are very snug, they look better hanging on my shop wall. I do not need the challenge of winter driving with those skinny tires!
  9. I bought “The Bump” for $100 in 1972, drove it to college for a year. Would like one again but not this one that is for sale.......
  10. Another fine video from KB productions! I love those wire wheels.......
  11. Welcome to this forum! My Grandfather purchase a ‘49 Olds 88 new, he had it until he passed in 1969. I went for many rides in that car and loved it.
  12. I don’t recall seeing fuzzy dice until I watched American Graffiti when it first came out. In the late 60’s and early 70’s we were into jacking up the rear of our cars, big -n- littles and Crager or Keystone mags.
  13. In today’s vernacular, that car needs to be “decluttered”! That car is only about an hour from me........
  14. looks to be mounted too high.....I have seen some of these square Mopars with factory visors and they look much better.
  15. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/825061474696365 Owner states: “Classic car 1951 Chrysler Windsor, new rebuilt motor, flat head 6 cylinder, 2 speed fluid automatic, new battery and muffler. Original style white wall tires. Beautiful classic ride. “ I have no interest in this sale. You must be signed in to Facebook to see.
  16. Why, I don’t know but I would like to recommission this car. Too bad I am in the middle of another project. I will not stockpile another “project” as I don’t want to bury myself. So many interesting cars posted here!!
  17. AMEN!! Nothing like an “unplanned “ tow to spoil one’s day.....
  18. Steve, what did you do about the motor mounts? I have a vibration in my A 28-32 mph. Thinking motor mounts.
