Go to your auto parts store and buy flexible fuel hose and clamps to fit. Fuel is not under any pressure at that point.

Since it won't be seen, perhaps you can make something of reasonable proximity. Likely two pieces would be easier, and welded up by a local shop?

I got in over my head as a novice with a 54 special in high school (1985), and have learned and grown in the hobby ever since, smiling all the way. Buy the Buick and a super cheap econo car. Have fun with the Buick a day or two each week, and save your pennies for repairs down the road. When you are hunting for parts, or taking your time to fix the 53, you can drive the beater and not feel rushed.

I saw one on Ebay recently, but not able to see it now. They do come up, though, and your style will interchange with several years, certainly with 1954. Regardless, you will get better results with this posted on the Buick forum if you have not already.- 1 reply

That makes sense. Have at it! I installed the optional switch and rear speaker, and just used a convenient hole.

It's big and heavy, leave it out until the dash is bolted in. They are easy to remove and install. Cover the push buttons with masking tape to prevent scratching, and as the radio is slid up into the dash, push the buttons in and you get clearance.

Any reason to install the radio now, and not once the dash is installed? Seems like a lot of extra weight to an already delicate job.

Under the trans, by the dynaflow cooler. It keeps the drivetrain situated, and when it's bad will impact how well the trans goes into gear. You will be happier with how it feels as well. -

Replace the thrust pad, and mounts for engine and transmission before anything else, then readjust the linkage. -

I have most of it from 24 4 cyl parts, and will check the books to confirm they work.

Looks like it will work fine, so long as the wire is intact. Unitl it breaks or shorts out, it should be fine.
