  1. I had a nice pair re-chromed, and they are bubbling up under the chrome - I never saw this before. The chroming was done only 6 months ago, and have never been put back on the car. I am looking for a good second pair, please, in case I run into problems with my originals and a second attempt at chroming - now at a new shop. Grateful for any help, Doug Cook
  2. Greetings all! I just picked up a very low-miles LeSabre. I had a '94 years ago, and loved it, so I was very happy with this new find to use as a daily driver. The ride seems a little too bouncy at times, and I hope someone can recommend a brand for new struts for front and rear. Grateful for any bright ideas, Doug Cook
  3. I think I could sell the whole replacement part. PM me , and I can take a look.
  4. Any good reason you can think of as to why the rear bumper is upside down?
  5. Looks like an amazing car. But is nobody there in the company with some basic auto literature to avoid the mistakes in describing it? 320 engine? Power steering? I hope the new owner joins the club!
  6. I've got one or all three. PM me if interested
  7. I believe they are the same, 54 and 55, though not the knob. Can someone confirm? If so, I have one for you.
  8. A Super, no? With the V in the hood ornament and on the wheel covers, plus the trim on the rear or the quarter panel running to the tail light, Super would be my guess.
  9. Prayers for your Dad and the family. He had a great way of sharing, and I will continue to enjoy this post.
  10. I have a 54 Century motor in So Cal.
  11. Did I ever send you some fresh air intake pipe stickers that read SUMMMER and WINTER? If not, let me know.
  12. The water bucket should be at the level of the radiator. I think you have the bucket too low. And the outlets too high. Hang in there!
  13. The wheels and tires you have are holding you up - too big. Go back to stock. The optional 400 transmission you have is on of the best - not just the Turbo 400, but the Super Turbine 400 with the hi and low stall torque converter. There is an electric switch in the accelerator linkage that needs to work for this to function properly.
  14. Nice job, Al!! The Selectronic was an expensive and rare option in 1950.
  15. Can't remove it, the valve plate is spot welded onto the shaft. Use some penetrating oil and exercise the valve, then lube with liquid graphite.
  16. Love how you document and think things through. Good luck with it all, we are rooting for you!
  17. Yummy Cuban food, and a great visit. Thanks, Al!!
  18. I used button-headed allen bolts and a nut on the back with thread sealer. For the guide pins, I have new stainless ones with a longer threaded shaft to allow a nut on the back, then trim to size. This lets you keep your guide pins. PM me if you want the last pair I have
