Hey Loren! Will you please post a pic of that mirror glass you mounted? I put one of the "reversable" early '60's remote mirrors on my passenger side, and it's almost unusable with flat glass.

1967 Special sedan. What keeps driver's window in it's channel?
SBRMD replied to SBRMD's topic in Buick - Post War
I did reinstall the plastic washers. I think the spring was for the door handle. Interestingly, the door panel/handle seems perfectly snug without it. -
1967 Special sedan. What keeps driver's window in it's channel?
SBRMD replied to SBRMD's topic in Buick - Post War
Thanks Guys! And, for a bonus of embarrassment, can you guys tell me where the hell this spring goes? It fell out of somewhere while I was mucking around, I think it was stuck to the inside of the vapor barrier. Must be associated with the door handle? Couldn't figure out how to include it. Door is reassembled and feels perfect. ????? -
My driver's window became divorced from it's hand crank. Took apart, shop manual in hand; found that u-shaped channel meant for the bottom edge of the window laying in the bottom of the door. No mention in the shop manual about what fastens the channel to the glass. No holes, fasteners etc present, and no evidence of any glue; seemingly it's just a pressure fit. Put it all back together and it works.....I suppose until it falls apart again. What is supposed to keep that glass in it's channel? Just the weight of the glass?

Qty 9 Buick Rallye (Road) wheels 15x7 $250 Wadsworth, IL
SBRMD replied to drhach's topic in Buick - Buy/Sell
Are they all code 011? That's the only true 7" wide big Buick wheel, the important measurement being bead-to-bead, not outside diameter... -
Flipper already has it up for $17,000!! Had the gall to use the same wording from the initial ad! It's on the Facebook 71-72-73 big Buick page.

1949 Roadmaster Sedanet: Outside Rearview Mirrors.
SBRMD replied to SBRMD's topic in Buick - General
And now, we return you to our regularly scheduled program.... What do all you late '40's - early '50's Buickers prefer in outside mirrors? -
Hi Gang Looking at outside mirrors for my car. Don't really want to use the factory one, and want to mount on both sides. Curious to know what peoples' experiences and preferences are, please share! So far I'm thinking "King Bee", available through Bob's and elsewhere.

Hi Everybody, Last year I updated my '65 Sportwagon radio with an Aurora Conversion, which replaces the original innards. So, here are the original guts, free for the taking. You pay shipping though, as usual. Don't know what's good and what's not, radio had quit before undergoing surgery.

Are you able to measure the backspacing? -
Marty: Point of history - the C-46 did not correspond to the DC-2 or any other Douglas plane. It was an entirely different animal, although it bore a cursory resemblance to the C-47, as a twin-engine cargo plane. It was made by Curtiss: https://images.app.goo.gl/53bJhZnznuSe1g8P9

Why are there six pics from right or right front, and none of the left or rear ? Hate that. -
1985 Century conv.--anybody ever seen one of these?
SBRMD replied to Pete Phillips's topic in Buick - Post War
Had a white one a few years ago, in ok shape with low-ish miles. Quirky and well-enough made given the basis they had to work with. But ultimately not that much fun. Had a hard time getting rid of it; I think the general market came to the same conclusion about it that I did. -
1949 Roadmaster Sedanet: Trunk Handle Installation
SBRMD replied to SBRMD's topic in Buick - Post War
Bob: The measurement you asked for = 3.75". That's from the edge of the chrome handle to the end of the threads, ie the far end of the whole thing. Something over 5 must be for the sedan? The shafts definitely spin 360 on both handles. Interestingly, the original key belonging to the car works both handles! I know trunk and door locks often were limited to just a few possible keys back then. -

1949 Roadmaster Sedanet: Trunk Handle Installation

Bob and Joel: Many thanks, this is great info and I think just what I need! Won't be near the car until Wednesday; I will keep you guys posted. Best regards, Steve. -
What is the correct procedure? My trunk handle functioned perfectly before taking apart for new paint. As original, it only rotated 90 degrees to open the trunk. Handle is in good uncorroded shape, and didn’t do anything to it; upon re-installation, it now freewheels 360 degrees, can't get it to restrict it's movement to the presumed normal 90 degrees. Anybody have an idea what's wrong? The original handle being used is the cleaner-looking one in the picture. Thanks to all in advance Steve in Mpls.
