  1. Look at those potholes, hard on the wheels and suspension.
  2. Probably not worth the trouble to sell them. I bought a couple Car and Driver off eBay, one a 1962 and the other a 1966 but only paid about $5 plus $3 shipping. People likely to only buy an issue if it has a road test of a car they own. Many just go unsold. Hemmings probably are not worth anything as they have little in the way of articles and mostly are just for sale ads. You might have some Car and Driver with road tests of "Muscle Cars" that might sell, but for the most part the newer the magazine the lower the value.
  3. You can rent a concrete surface grinder/polisher then apply a sealer. Not sure what it would all add up to, except a lot of work. I have seen this done to a very old concrete floor where an old store was being remodeled into a new one. The old store had used those commercial glue-down linoleum 1ft by 1ft tiles, but the new store needed a more modern look.
  4. Yes putting it for sale on the Corvair forum will probably attract low-ball offers from those looking for a steal. After all they probably already have one.
  5. If I had evidence that the only 22,000 miles from new claim was false i would send a complaint to the state attorney general's office.
  6. Wondering why allowing your car to roll into a lagoon should be covered. Can I park on a steep hill in San Francisco, not set the parking brake, and still be covered?
  7. You can go onto the 3M website and ask them your question, by clicking on the "Chat" button. http://3mauto.com/products/adhesives-sealants#JdOQLa7vEgPdduZT.97 http://3mauto.com/products/adhesives-sealants/3m-super-glue-gel-08122.html#x7Dz03sUD7CLXx9p.97 It might be this super glue gel you are thinking of but I'm not sure. Most of the weatherstrip adhesive bonds rubber to metal, and can also bond rubber to rubber but may not be optimum for that. Super Glue Gel 08122
  8. The Blue one is '24 Hupmobile, just seemed to have similarities. Hupmobile RRS Special Roadster 1924. I just looked up Hupmobile because others were saying it and wanted to see what one looked like.
  9. Looks like there is something more in front of the pinion.
  10. I don't consider anything 1950's or newer "antique." Pre-War has a different character, no power steering, etc. This I find interesting: The Nickel Era Touring Registry, an affiliated Register of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, accepts nickel era vehicles from 1912-1929 http://www.nickelregistry.hcca.org/ They had a tour sort of in my area, northern California. I've driven around that area. Did some surveying in the hills around there. August 15-18 2016 Tour to the Land of the Giants Fortuna, CA. Best weather on the Pacific coast at this time for 4 days of touring. Scenic Redwood Highway and coastal towns with top down driving if you have an open car; but closed cars are nice too. Bring your kids or grand kids..
  11. That is Dupont Lucite Acrylic Lacquer for your Darrin, keep it in case you need any touch-up done. That type of paint is no longer available, since 2005.
  12. Seagrave Firetruck in Sacramento, $4k A non restored 1941 seagrave fire truck if you are looking for a fun project this would be it. It's in pretty good shape for not being restored. $4000 http://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/5839744115.html
  13. 1904 Thomas Flyer Limousine It has the radiator alright, and some other details.
  14. I really don't think that's it. it just seems closer than others. Radiator not quite right, seats are not right, front suspension seems different.
  15. You left out a "t" in your comment. Butt the point came across nonetheless.
  16. 1904 Pungs-Finch Did you rule out this one? 1904 Maxwell Prototype 1904 Regas Model B has the similar rear fenders, and also chain drive. Otherwise the 'match' is not good.
  17. We had a Mack Truck collection in the neighborhood, many parked in the yard inoperable, every time a new one was purchased for the business the old one was kept for sentimental value. Offers to buy any one them were either brushed off or answered with an exceptionally high price. I wondered what do you gain by just leaving them sit? I remember something like 10 of them, but supposedly there were much more. Mary Hitchings Mack Truck Besides its construction and its Mack bulldog, there's something else that makes this truck special: it belonged to Mary Hitchings, The Lumber Gal She earned her stripes hauling lumber for the lumber yard she co-owned with her husband Andrew. For three decades, Mary Hitchings made the run between Santa Rosa and Fort Bragg daily six days a week, clocking two million miles in the process. The lumber yard had become an informal Mack museum due in large part to the fifty Mack trucks spread over the yard's acreage. Since the Hitchings had no children, those trucks would be sold at auction after her death. http://www.ironmartonline.com/1954-mack-ltl-single-axle-tractor-used-for-sale/ http://www.pressdemocrat.com/news/2279624-181/mary-hitchings Hitchings became known for logging 2 million miles while hauling lumber between Fort Bragg and the Santa Rosa business that she founded with her husband, Andrew Hitchings. For more than 30 years she drove her powder blue Mack trucks six days a week, sometimes making the eight-hour run twice in one day. ?I loved every minute of it, especially rounding all those curves on Highway 128 in the Anderson Valley,? she recalled in a 2006 Press Democrat story.
  18. Could this be him? I think it is a long shot at best. This Al Nelson now is in Michigan, not MN Minnesota.

  20. Is the strap wrench slipping, or are you getting good torque on it? I might put rubber over it, cut a piece of a bike inner tube and stretch it over the cap, then put the strap wrench on and the rubber may allow the strap to grip tighter. Maybe even glue the rubber on with silicone sealant, which would have to be cleaned off after. Or like was said above, an oil filter wrench of the proper size might grip better.

  22. Never heard of such a thing. In my world residential and commercial are mutually exclusive. At some point residential and commercial must abut, but individual properties are never zoned both residential and commercial simultaneously. They don't intermix.
