After examining every component of my fuel system at least twice,I found that my "vapor lock" problem turned out to be a bad coil breaking down when hot. It would work well enough if the car was running but wouldn't start it,. It was behaving exactly as the OP car in question. Remember, 80% of all fuel problems are electrical in nature. Zeke

John: I sent the coil/ignition switch to KM Lifestyle Mfg. in Worcester Ma. for a rebuild about 6 weeks ago. Not only did they rebuild my coil they rebuilt my ignition switch.That may be a possibility for you. Zeke

It was a couple of cars behind us on Hershey Park Drive as we left. One of the passengers was tapping on the carburetor trying to get it started. We noticed the lack of a top insert (the rain drew our attention to that fact). Still, I would have loved to have been riding in the car. Zeke

The door key is different on my '33 Dodge. I'm trying to figure what to do with a bad coil. The coil was not made to separate from the cable. I seem to remember that there are coil re builders but I haven't located them yet. Zeke

I was wandering the fields of Hershey many years ago and was at a vendor booth with titles and other paper. The fellow in front of me asked the vendor if he had a title for a '38 Chevy or something like that. The vendor went back into his trailer and appeared with a title. The customer stood there in shock saying " This is the title for my car!" Sure enough it was for the car he owned. Zeke

It's been a while, but I got keys cut for my Omega switch by a local key shop. Have you explored the possibility that the key broke off in the switch. Those bent keys are prone to do that. Slip a screwdriver in and see if the switch will turn. That was my situation. Zeke

Don't worry about finding clutch fluid. ATF works great or a 50-50 mix of motor oil and kerosene. Zeke
