  1. Here's some pix of minor rust areas on my (former) 67. Car was in good shape overall- must have been garage kept
  2. here's a few pix of mine- before and after
  3. I think that's the muffler. On my 67 it was rusted at the bottom. They are hard to find, and some people do without them as they were made to suppress noise/vibration when the AC was running ( better to hear this from an expert). I took mine to the blacksmith and we cut off the bottom 2", then welded a new bottom. Seemed to always work well.On the 67 there's supposed to be a heavy rubber "jacket" around it to control condensation. I can see your jacket in the photo; don't lose it.
  4. If you type in "Ozone generator" in a Google search, you'll see the EPA website. They have a lot to say about them.
  5. Darwin Falk sold me one for my 67 a few years ago, but it looked different
  6. Not to be a wise guy, but did you try the old coat hanger and bubble gum trick?
  7. Whenever I see a car that has exploded, I always say to myself " See, that guy didn't know the value of keeping his car in good tune"
  8. In the 60's and 70's, and even the 80's, the only choice the wise guys had was whether to go with the Eldorado, or a less flashy Caddy. But in this day and age, a good family man ( get it?) must balance his duty to his wife and kids while still maintaining an honest business. Like say, the garbage business.
  9. Whenever my 67 was up on the lift, the mechanics would note how rust free it was, considering it was a Philly car and spent it's life in the NE. We knocked around the possibility that, obviously, the car was garage kept most of its life. Who owned Rivs back in the day? People of higher income, many of whom had large homes and garages. At least, it's a thought. In North Jersey, we always pegged doctors with Buicks, wise guys with Caddys.
  10. I just watched a video on you tube with a young guy/ his site is "engineering explained". He spent 20 minutes explaining the relationship between bore and stroke, and the effects on HP. I was getting dizzy but I understood most of it. You guys would really get a kick out of it.
  11. Didn't a member have repros of that strap done? I think I still have one, unused, if anyone's interested
  12. I like it/ when will some one chrome one? Or, how about color coding the paint to the car color?
  13. Hank- just saw this reply. Will call you tomorrow
  14. Thanks mobileparts/ I'll call him today. The 66 and 67 shared the same bumpers.
  15. Have front bumper for a 67, along with the brackets. it's been dinged right on the nose ( as are so many of them) but not too bad. Must be straightened and re-chromed. Price; free- pick up in North Jersey.
  16. I saw a 64 in Newark; the guy who owns it furnished cars for movie sets. He was asking around 11-12k but the car looked pretty complete. Dark blue if I remember. If you want send me your contact info and I'll stop by. It was there 2 months ago.
  17. I wonder if Jason could reach out that guy from Florida, John Saluppi ( Staluppi?) the guy who has his own booth at Mecum Auctions? I saw him sell literally millions of dollars worth of his collection, then buy a like amount. The announcers said he like to "rotate his stock" so to speak. Obviously $ is no issue to him, and he would appreciate a work of art like this. Anyone know Jay Leno?
  18. If you send your booster to Dewey ( which I think you should) ask him about re-finishing it with the proper finish. My 67 was originally a gold cad/ I let him re-finish the booster. the cap for the reservior, AND the hood latch!! He suggested I throw in the hood latch, and I was really happy.
  19. Years ago my company washed and repaired a high rise bldg in Ft Lee Nj. Really windy. The chemical we were using was ammonium bi flouride ( not available anymore). The wind drift caused the chemical to land on cars below; even tho we had guys stationed on the ground with water hoses, the metal trim of certain cars was damaged beyond repair. The only cars damaged? Mercedes Benz. We were working over a stock brokerage company. Any exposed stainless , mirrors, trim, around the headlights ( this was 30 years ago) was ruined. What a lawsuit!!
  20. I had callled my IT gut, thinking my computer had been hacked. MAybe a little advance notice next ime.
  21. Wasn't there some things written about not using ex manifold gaskets because it's better not to have something (gasket) interfering with letting the manifold cool off evenly?
  22. Good one Ed! Little Willie was a chemist Little Willie is no more What he thought was h2o Was h2so4
  23. I have a nice hood spear for sale; prev owner had it re-chromed. He said it was from a 66. Asking $50
  24. Selling Star Wars air cleaner with original base and nut. It was restored, has a few dings but looks good. First time I displayed it at a show I won "Dealer's Choice". Co-incidence or not? Asking $750 plus shipping. Trying this forum first, then V8 Buick . Thx, Sam from North Jersey
  25. I was having trouble listing my car so I went to Google and asked 'How to sell a car on Ebay". I was directed to a site that looked exactly like e-bay's site re asking info about the car. Everything looked good until it asked a lot of info re credit card #'s, pay pal info, checking acct, etc. When I had ebay on the phone I told them about it. They said it sounded like a scam but they didn't seem too concerned. I made a report about it anyway.
