  1. Hi Gary, I have been watching your restoration from the start. Great job!!!! not only on the car but the documentation of it. I really admire your perseverance with this project. I see you are in Monmouth county. I live in Ocean county. I have been following the paint work closely and the guy you have doing it seems to do excellent work. I am in the process of restoring my 29 Franklin 4 door sedan and am just about ready for paint. I am in no rush. Do you think he would be interested in doing it? I do not want to "step on anyone's toes" . You can pm me if you want to. I would love to see your car someday. Are you going to show it at any of the local meets, AACA meets or just drive it? Again great job on the Buick!! Jim

A real gem in the old car hobby. I am sure he would love to talk bout your Peerless. I have his number if you want to pm me

  9. Some of the cars in Lloyds collection include Elcar, Monroe, Marmon, Franklin, Overland, Cadillac, Peerless, Pierce Arrow, Templar, Baker Electric, Just to name a few. He will be greatly missed.
  10. Lloyd Young was a great guy. Myself and my 2 boys went to see him in early November . He rebuilt the overdrive in my 31 Franklin. We got there after dark but he took the overdrive in his garage and started working on it. He wanted to check a couple things . He then asked if we wanted to see his cars. We always want to see cars. What a collection!!!! He has some very rare stuff. He had said he was going to have an auction in August of this year. I don't know if that will come about or not . We stayed for hours. We then went into his house and he talked about his life. My two boys were glued to his every word. What a good person. I am glad I took the trip out there . Two weeks later had the overdrive back. I think he had some help doing them but he knew them inside and out. Rest in peace Lloyd . The hobby just lost a very important part of it . Jim

  12. It was 1985 . I was 21 and looking for something sporty. I found a 1970 Chevelle Baldwin motion 454 4 speed about an hour from my house for 10,000. I also found a 1970 Corvette convertible cortez silver ,red interior and black top. 350 300 hp 4 speed. Same price I wound up buying the Vette from the original owner with every piece of paperwork. It was a sweet car . Maybe I should have bought the Chevelle. It would be worth a bundle today Anyhow 5 years later sold it to pay for the wedding

    exhaust pipe

If you call Keith Kilmer the head of Franklin club projects , he might be able to point you in the right direction. I think the club has had mandrel bent pipes done for later models. Not 100% sure though. Also Jeff Hasslen might be able to help. I know he is closer to you . Just some thoughts Jim
