  1. do not believe a leather interior was available for a Special. I have seen Century and Roadmaster coupes with a leather interior , but not a Special
  2. does not look like any 1923 I ever saw.
  3. John: There is, I just realized that it did not post with page 1. PDF files can get a little funky who you try and convert them . I will try this morning to get page 2 posted. That is what happens when you try to something late at night (at least for me) .
  4. attached is a copy of the archival judging form. The pre qualification portion is not used at this time.
  5. Let me see, If I can get a copy and paste it in tis thread.
  6. about 5 years ago, I was in the market for a Volvo PV544 or 120s. I had accompanied my wife to a medical convention, that she was attending in Sweden and I was on the prowl for a Volvo. While engaging in my other passion, fine art photography, I had taken the train out to the Swedish countryside, where I was sure I would find a Volvo. Parked at a restaurant right next to the train station was a 1948 Buick convertible. I never did find my Volvo on the trip, but I met a lot of Swedish Buck and Cadillac owners, and they are very passionate about prewar and early postwar American machinery.
  7. I have used the wire trick and I have also used an old fashioned air pump (football needle valve type) and blown back ward from the head through that oil line. Most of these cars did not use detergent oils years ago and that line gets gummed up.
  8. It is clear that the market for prewar cars of any type is down, and Buicks seem to be especially hard hit. When I look at my own collection, even though it is varied, I am probably on the wrong side of most of them. That said, even though I will probably reduce my collection by one or two this year. I plan to just enjoy them and let my estate worry bout the reduced value. A lot of us worked many years to be able to afford our cars, and I for one enjoy driving them every bit as much now as I ever did. If we have to sell, we will probably take a hit. Think of the hit we take whoever we buy a brand new car. and the loss taken on a collector car does not seem so bad.
  9. yes it is. I thought I had a buyer, but have not heard back from him. Engine is crated and ready to be picked up or shipped. We have compression data on engine last time it was run before crating.
  10. Two great Bugle articles and examples of why the magazine is the success that it is
  11. If there is sufficient interest, I aim happy to do that. Kong Man, please note that I object to the forwarding go BCA confidential information, so the drop box approach is out.
  12. Matt; You have missed the point. There was no disagreement about wording. There was a request to change wording. That was done. There was a request to correct an errant coma. That was done. The disagreement was over wheterr or not I would repost the minutes in their entirety. The correct way to do that is to list the changes and request the minutes be approved with those changes. It is not to force the secretary to repost minutes in their entirety . You can read , reread or talk to anyone you want , but this is the very simple truth of the matter. I had no choice but to have the minutes go unapproved and there for no business being done going forward or get it done. Please look once more at what the reason was for not approving minutes, and please show this forum!!! You have asked for unedited teleconference transcripts, and have never been denied them.
  13. It seems a bit odd. I have never seen a rubber hose connected to a master cylinder. They usually have a metal line that goose to a fitting block with the brake light switch and a metal one to the rear of the car and that flex hose and the two rubber hoses that go to each wheel cylinder on the front. You might PM Brian Depouli, he has a 1938 series eighty car.
  14. Hey Roy, are you doing any of the driving tours. I promised the tI would take photos for the bugle and I am trying to decide which tours I should sign up for in order to get that done
  15. Great photos, better weather this year than last. Sorry I had to miss it
  16. Looking for a 1938 90 series rolling chassis, engine, tranny not required. We are really looking for front end parts, spindles, brake drums, ties rods, etc. Would take a complete chassis or parts car.
  17. Thanks Kevin, but I need the long wheelbase Roadmaster chassis. Too bad, Portend is so close. Jack
  18. Looking for a 1942 through 1947 Buick Roadmaster rolling chassis or parts car with good chassis.
  19. The snow has left and the mud has taken over. I struggled out of Nichols Field more than once. I have not been back yet since the show moved to Waterbury.
  20. Congratulations Lemar, she is a true Southern Belle!!!
  21. A low milage (mid 60K) 1947 Buick Roadmaster engine for sale. Engine is already crated for pick up or shipping. Compression has been checked, all freeze plugs replaced. Manifolds are off engine. looking for $990 or near offer. Shipping not included. Engine is located in Lowell Massachusetts. A transmission for this engine is also available. Selling for a friend. PM me if you have any interest.
  22. I think it would take less yellow paint to do a school bus than that Buick. I would never have thought of yellow for an eighty series car other than a phaeton, but that said, I really do like it.
  23. They are out there, If you go to Hershey. I am guessing that Mac Blair may have an original one and If I remember Bob's Automobile had repress.
  24. Peter: there is a list of the ones belonging to members of the BCA. If you are not a BCA member PM me again and I will send you a copy of the Bugle with info as to how to join. Those cars are also accepted as full Classics by the CCCA.
