Vettron Global LLC

Looking to purchase my first A, unfortunately its located out of state and the buyer wants me to pay and ship through Vettron Global LLC, a broker/ shipper.

I'm a little hesitant as I don't know where the seller lives, the car(was owned by his father who passed last year)is located in New Mexico and the broker/shipper is in WV.

The water is a little muddy it seems. Anyone know anything about this  Vettron Global LLC? Thx

A quick online search and I found their number. Call them and screen.

If you are not comfortable with sellers' terms and conditions, don't move forward with your purchase.

Others may disagree, as the buyer, you have as much say regarding these stipulations as the seller does. Don't like it? Don't buy it.

I generally don't like it when people dictate how my money will be spent.

Although your description is very brief, there is an aspect to it that would make me flinch if I were in your shoes. Good luck. And don't forget:

Plenty more fish in the sea. I believe it is also a strong buyers market for model A's.

No, I don't

Go there. See the A for yourself. 99% this is a scam.

The only thing missing here is an oil rig. Protect yourself. Get on a plane and go look at it. My guess is you will be unable to arrange it.

On google maps, looks like Vettron Global’s street address is a fifty-year-old split foyer in a residential neighborhood.  Plenty of nice Model A’s for sale out there from reputable sellers.

New to this forum. I was looking to buy an old VW bug and I am getting the exact story as you are. Same story about dad passed away and same shipping company. I’ve been suspicious from the first email I received and almost positive it was a scam but this seals the deal that it isn’t legit.

Did you ever find out any more info or did you walk away from the seller?

We've seen this before, but it's worth telling newcomers.

Here are some characteristics of a fraud:

---The price is too good to be true.  They want you

to react without much thinking.

---The sale needs to be done quickly, for some excuse.

They don't want you to ponder or ask others.

---The car cannot be seen.  The seller is in the military,

or on an offshore oil platform (!), or crippled.  Maybe the

car is already crated and at a Google shipping center

(of which there are none, and cars aren't crated to send

within the country.)

---They will deliver the car for free, and if you don't like it,

you can ship it back at their expense.  (Ridiculous--that

means the seller would be paying shipping THREE times

if the first buyer rejected it and he sold it to the second one.

No one offers free shipping of a car.)

---Photos are taken from the internet.  The "seller" does

not really have the car.

We are pretty wise here--wiser than serpents.

It’s been funny to watch the “seller” try to avoid letting me to look at it in person. Obvious red flags went up after his first email response and it’s only gotten worse from there. He even sent a picture of the title (which is easy enough to fake nowadays). He is using a name for a sales person at an actual Volkswagen Dealership that sells new cars. These scams just never end.

Scammers think overseas buyers can't come to see a car in person but however a good shipment company is always offering a service to inspect a car for you as buyer.

If a seller is not correct in providing enough information we just walk away from the deal.

What excuses did the criminal use?

Exposing scams helps fellow collectors now and in the future.

So far he has just tried the hard sell. Saying I can go see it but that he is tired of messing around and has four other people already coming to see it so if I’m really serious I should just send the money, lol.

I responded by telling him I can be there in a few hours to inspect it, but I’m willing to bet that I never hear back or get further excuses given that there is no car to inspect.

Forget that scammer, you've got a far better resource here to find a Ford Model A which is a good honest value:  the For Sale - Not Mine Forum.  A number of us repost Model A for sale regularly from other on-line sites such as Craigslist and Fb Marketplace on the For Sale - Not Mine forum to bring them to the attention of interested buyers.

"Not Mine" Automobiles For Sale - Antique Automobile Club of America - Discussion Forums (aaca.org)

Literally hundreds of Model A Fords are available for sale at any given time since so many have been restored over the years.  You should be able to spec-out the year, body style and even colors you prefer.  Good luck with your search.

LOL every sad trick in the book here.

Yes, SteveVW, the lying "seller" is using some of

the tactics I enumerated above, and which we all

have seen before:

---The shipping is free.

---He works overseas.

---The car is already in a warehouse.

---You'd better act quickly.

Note that he contradicts himself, since he isn't

following truth.  "First come first served," he promises,

and 4 others have appointments before you.  But you

can get the car first, before them!  Tell the reprobate,

"They were in line first.  I'll abide by your first-come, first-

served requirement, so I'll look at it after the four of them."

Divine justice will take care of him, even if human

justice does not.  And to put it mildly, the scammer

won't like it!

Always in a hurry. Six people are interested. Better hurry up.  Family member passed away. Don't have time to deal with the car.

THIS THE SCAMMERS PLAYBOOK!!!!
