NTX5467
Looks like a nice job of blending it all in to the existing sheet metal. Definitely an upgrade! Any changes to the rear?
steelman
Tom, I believe it just the opposite. 65 Riviera fender pods grafted to a 56 Chevy. You can see the point of the Bel Air trim on the side of the fender.
steelman
Haven’t found any more pictures yet. This is from the GNRS at Pomona this weekend. More will surface soon, but nothing yet.
60FlatTop
The base is a Chevy for sure. I think the bling from the picture is more impressive than the flow of the design. There have been times when I considered picking up an extra hood for my '64 Riviera and grafting in a reversible RR Silver Shadow grille and lights. That is more of a play on the original design concept for me.
kegart
What would you call it? A Chevick? These were both good designs that I don't think work well together. Kevin Edited February 6, 2023 by kegart (see edit history)

MikeJS
Sorry if this is slightly off topic, but I thought it fit the "And now for something completely different" tagline. We're all kids at heart and what kid doesn't love Lego. And of course, all good hitmen obviously drive a Riviera... https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-33329/RollingBricks/gun-cabinet-and-hitman-minifig-for-buick-riviera/#details
steelman
Took a while, but here are a couple more shots of the 56 with 65 fender pods. Edited March 13, 2023 by steelman (see edit history)

EmTee
It's an interesting modification and I think the reason that it kinda works is the similarity in design between the '56 Chevy and '65 Riviera grills. XframeFX
Not only a lack of headlights from 1963/64 grills, this image is a good example of rounded upper corners which I prefer.✔️
