FastCPA
Finally getting the Riviera Restored. I've had this car since 1983. It really needs a passenger side quarter. I thought I would float this out there this weekend and see if you guys had some suggestions. The car currently is located in Arlington Texas. Thanks in advance. telriv
Rather than replacing & cutting up an original locate a GOOD body/metal man to work his magic. MUCH less invasive & it could turn out to be a far superior job. Just my thoughts on the subject at hand. Tom T.
gungeey
You are in exact location where I would be looking for sheetmetal. If you want a nice straight one with big gaping rust holes let me know 😆 Tim at www.rivicentral.com in CA will give you an honest assessment regarding condition of parts. Also, www.rivparts.com That's Larry but he may not have what you're looking for right now. Also, Gene G. But he is in Pennsylvania.
FastCPA
Tom - the car is at a great shop and they have some incredibly gifted fabricators. That was the plan to work all that stuff out but I though lets float the idea to some super smart guys on this forum and see what your thoughts were. Maybe my post should have been "What the hell would you guys do". I'll reach out to Tim - I saw his ad in the Riview. Good advice. 71GS
Roberta, @BUICK RACER has a post here about a NOS 65 right 1/4. Might still be available?
JZRIV
Rich - Wow ROA#44, you have been around awhile! I would definitely repair existing. Replacing a whole quarter on a Riv is no walk in the park (to do it right) even for an experienced shop. With todays technology in fillers applied by a skilled individual, having filler in a panel is a non-issue compared to the old days. Just my personal opinion. Seafoam65
Any good body man could make that quarter look new very quickly.
RivNut
The section of a 65 rear quarter is set up for a 65 rear bumper. Not even close. A complete 65 rear quarter will not have the "air scoops" either. Better of working that one out.

dr914
I would also repair your quarter panel. Too much intrusion into the car body to cut it off and weld another on. The damage is not bad at all considering the talent of good metal men and dent guys these days with great heat shrinking tools available
