MrEarl
The ultimate “restomod” imo. I’d have done a few things different but still….. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1954-buick-skylark-convertible-3/ Edited September 5, 2022 by MrEarl (see edit history)
suchan
As the seller states, it was built from just a Skylark body and frame. Everyone has their own ideas about how it should have progressed from there, but I think it looks pretty good.
Jolly_John
Yes, Lamar...a very tastefully done restomod. Thanks for sharing the info. John
alsancle
Not a crime against humanity.... unless they started with a nice car.
avgwarhawk
I like them original. But I like this as well. After all, a oil change was just completed. Big selling point. Maybe a 455 Buick engine would have been better for the build. But I would not turn down the LS1. Looks like fun to me!
PONTIAC1953
You should have heard my reaction to reading the topic title, loudly saying NO about a dozen times, I'm sorry, but a 53 or 54 Buick Skylark without the Buick 322 Nailhead V8, Dyna-Flow trans, and Buick's closed driveline/rear end, is no longer a Skylark. EmTee
At least it's a '54...
Matt Harwood
It's not like there's a shortage of '54 Skylarks. They had an extremely high survival rate. If you want a stock one, they're plentiful. If you want to see a stock one, there's one at almost every big show. I'm not going to shed any tears over this one.
Jim Skelly
at least it had a recent oil change 🙄
drhach
I suppose a person could always buy it and re-restore it. Shouldn't cost much

Jolly_John
The bid is at $61,000, with one day to go on the auction. Hasn't moved much in the past four or five days. However, I'm thinking the final bid will be much higher, when all is done and said. Fun to watch! John
