TexRiv_63
He is right about not seeing another one at car shows! Chrome is very beat up against a likely repaint. If this has been a PA car look very closely for rust repair. No chance at that price.
TAKerry
Whats with people that move the sale price all over? Listed, then reduced, then raised higher than original listing!!! No calls on the original price, the price drops. THEN, the phone rings off the hook, IT MUST BE TOO LOW, I will raise it make a few more dollars. Do you want to sell the car or not? 1

TAKerry
Looks to me like its time for a raise! This car is in my backyard and I would bet a handful of folding money right up to the $10k range would get it. Glad I dont have any thats disposable. OMG, I have seen prices change in either direction that make no sense, but this guy cant even wait for 2 days to change the price! He must have a manic personality, Im not sure I would want to have to even deal with a seller like this if I were in the market for this car. I bought my 77 trans am sight unseen from a bloke in FLA. I fed ex'd a deposit and went to pick it up. We had an agreed price, I had the balance of the payment with me. When I got there he started this song and dance that there was a local guy that offered almost a thousand dollars more and he really wanted the car to stay local and I would have to pony up another grand if I wanted it. I told him in no uncertain terms that I had just driven 2 days straight, we had an agreed price and to proceed with loading the car on my trailer! Done Deal!!
The 55er
Some people will try every trick in the book to finagle a few extra dollars out of a prospective buyer when selling a car or a bunch of parts. Some think they're way smarter than you are and will play all kinds of games. I'll give it my best shot once but I have no problem putting my money back in my wallet and driving back home. The way I see it is they had their chance to take my cash money and they screwed it up. Their follow-up phone calls aren't returned either.
kingrudy
I believe that the owners wife put her foot down and told him, "either the car goes or I go" Now he can't decide which one to part with. That's why the price is all over the map. 1

I think you may be on to something.

deac
These are not very desirable cars and they're not a quick sell. The seller's patience is what's needed here in order to sell it

TAKerry
I think this one should be moved to the general section. I get a kick out of following along with the Roller Coaster ride! 6T-FinSeeker
On 7/9, Seller reduced price to $12,300 OBO. The original ad has four not so great photos. Perhaps if the Seller added more and better photos to his ad, he'd have better results. The daily adjustment to price doesn't seem to be working. I wonder what the price will be tomorrow; and the day after. We could have a fun contest predicting what the next price, bobbing up and down, will be. I'll guess $11,300, a thousand less than the current one.

Your guess was "Close, but No Cigar", off by 50%- He cut it not by $1,000, but by $1500 But you still guessed better than I could have ! I still say offer his wife $5,000 - she'll jump all over him to get rid of it NOW ! 2

John_S_in_Penna
And now, July 12, the asking price is $10,000. I don't think that, in just one day, enough serious people will have seen the ad. He shouldn't conclude after one day, every day, that his price isn't working. Imagine calling him up to ask about the car: "I saw your ad last week. I see you're asking $11,700 for the Lincoln." "Oh, that's not the current price. It has been changed 7 times since then!"
TexRiv_63
To provide some context to this interesting back and forth price extravaganza, I sold this 57 Premiere for $11,000 back in 2012. It looked OK in the photos but it was a rusted out bondo bucket that leaked a trail of oil behind it and more than half of the options did not work. I lost money but still felt like a bandit back then, it is interesting to see that the value of these cars has moved very little in 10 years.
