EmTee
Beautiful work - I mean you and the body shop! The picture looking down the side shows that all of that effort you put into the metalwork has paid-off handsomely. The finish line is in sight!

sebastienbuick
Hello everyone, here is some news from the Buick To start, 3 pictures of the rims Before : Then once sanded, primed and painted : Then I see with the garage and we fix an appointment to pick up the Buick this Saturday morning at 10:30 am. Needless to say that of course I haven't slept all night, hoping that everything goes well, that it doesn't rain and I imagined all the possible catastrophes on the road ... So here we are on Saturday and I'm leaving with my brother and my neighbor (the one who has the Dodge Challenger) with his Pajéro, and of course it rains a little . Arrived at the garage, and here are some photos of the vehicles present !

sebastienbuick
Then after a stressful trip where I was just looking in the rearview mirror to see if everything was going well, she arrived home ! They put up the windshield and the rear window for me too Then Sunday morning, it's time to reassemble . I wanted to start by putting the door windows back on, but first I wanted to put the handle and lock back on (it's more accessible without the window, ...) Except that I realized that my handle joints are dead , and suddenly I have to order some . So I was spoiled for choice, and I decided to reassemble the rear wheel surround chrome Then after almost 2 hours of cleaning, between cleaning with water with a toothbrush and a sponge, rinsed, applied several times of "Belgom chromes" (produced as a cream for cleaning chrome) inside and outside, cleaned the screws with Belgom chrome and cleaned and painted black both nuts Sorry for the pictures, my camera is starting to age and the shine of the chrome doesn't make it look the same at all
sebastienbuick
Then reassembly Then the same for the other side with 2 hours of cleaning also

sebastienbuick
Hello everyone , little progress on the Buick, this weekend has been very busy and I was able to work on the Buick only part of an afternoon. And between cleaning the parts to be reassembled and reassembling I couldn't really do much. @Ted "Wildcat65" Nagel gave me the idea and so I continued with the Buick lettering for the hood ! So cleaning and reassembly Then to finish, I took care of one of the chrome of the front wing passenger side . So cleaning (we can see the camera , which has taken all the photos since the start of the restoration ) It's a shame the chrome is slightly damaged, but otherwise the part is very good. It's a shame in the photo we do not see the shine of the chrome. I thought that the 4 nuts in this part were in good condition, but in fact they are quite rusty and suddenly I thought sandblasted them to paint them. But in the meantime a colleague came by and made me see that there was some on the internet, and after knowing the right size I ordered 50 . So if I get this this week, I will put this parts back on the wing next weekend . Here is the very small step forward 6

sebastienbuick
Good evening everyone, some news from the Buick with the reassembly of certain parts. Each part is followed before each reassembly, and so it takes time and it seems that not much has been done, but hey I have no choice I will not reassemble a dirty part with rusty screws. So to continue I took care of the small chrome that put at the top of the front fenders at the level of the windshield Cleaning The screws were in good condition so I just repainted Then reassembly but I have no photo Then I took care of the same parts but on the other side, and a little riddle with the deciphering of its references RH for the passenger side I guess Then cleaning and painting the screws I will put the rest of the photos tonight

And to keep the original rivets I will leave them. Only the part fixed to the engine is held by two nuts on its ball joint Sand the rails, paying close attention to the ball joint
