  1. Anyone know why when I visit this site some of the topic headings are in what looks like Chinese characters? Antone else have this?
  2. Matt, I believe you are in error in your statement. There is a way to positively ID the/an Impala as a real SS. If the TRIM code on the Trim Tag has the numerical code for bucket seats, it is in fact a true SS. You were close, but no cigar. If the poster will post the info from the Trim Tag (also incorrectly called the cowl tag), I would be happy to decode most of it for him or her.
  3. http://stlouis.craigslist.org/cto/5390436159.html Not mine. Save it from the rodders!!!
  4. You could try posting the city/town where the parts are located & see if someone here is close to it, & would go check the parts out for you. Also, pay in person whenever possible(this case it doesn't sound like it would work), use only Postal Money Order if that is your method of payment, use Paypal if paying on line.
  5. 1948 model didn't have the vent window, I believe. Same as the photo.
  6. '40 Buick. The LaSalle has different horizontal trim on the hood.
  7. NADA is from low retail 20K to high retail 52K w/fuel injection. The body looks pretty nice from the photos, however it looks like it sat in that open building for quite a while. How many rodent nests or rodents call it home? I assume it's also in Florida from the plates (a nice humid subtropical climate & if near the ocean, lots of salt. The floors & trunk may be anything from nice & solid to Swiss cheese to non existent. When was it last driven - runs & drives is way different than roadworthy. Factory documentation would be very helpful towards value & desirability. Got photos under the hood, interior, & trunk? More info & photos = more precise idea of value.
  8. Never heard of a Super Wildcat. If Buick records are like Chevrolet records, you can't know how many were made. It does sound like a neat car. You can check out "Old Cars Price Guide" for values & an explanation of conditions numbered 1 through 6. Bear in mind that being a roadworthy car is a MAJOR factor in condition along with the body & interior. Below is the NADA info for values on the car. NOTE: They don't list a separate model Super Wildcat or an option called Super Wildcat. If you decide not to buy it or buy it to flip, I may be interested. Base Price $3,651 $10,900 $22,600 $42,000 Options: (change) 4 Speed Transmission 5% 5% 5% 425/360 HP V8 Engine 15% 15% 15% TOTAL PRICE: $3,651 $13,080 $27,120 $50,400
  9. Upon further examination & reference search, it is a 1952 Hudson Wasp. My first inkling was close, but no cigar.
  10. I have a '66 Impala sport coupe. Non-SS with bucket seats in it. 468 w/Corvette tripower, T400, 3:73 posi. About 98K on the body & 8K on the drivetrain. $17,000. I would be glad to sell "sight unseen" but it has to be in cash.
  11. I see the seller is generating a ton of interest with an opening bid of $89K. Also noted - Floors are very solid,Body has been professionally restoredIf the body has been restored wouldn't the floors be perfect & the car painted? Or are floors no longer considered part of the body? And maybe this car was a rare optioned primer only paint delete car. Either my eyes deceive me & the car is painted(looks like rust/orange to me) or it's in primer which is Not restored.
  12. As a senior member here, you should know pictures should be posted with the ad if for no other reason than the fact that we all like to look at pictures.
  13. Cahartley, You said "That it's a 2 door hardtop (NOT BUBBLETOP!) makes it quite desirable in my books." You are incorrect sir. The car is a 2 door sedan, also referred to as a 2 door post. There is a giant difference between it & a 2 door hardtop.
  14. Sir, Sellers of vehicles here should take note of your ad. I think it's one of if not the best ad I've seen here. Good luck with your sale.
  15. Throw us a bone here. How about price & a photo or 6?
  16. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/dak/cto/5079778122.html Not mine. Thought someone here may be interested.
  17. Out of curiosity, why would you want to part out a car like this being 98% complete instead of selling the whole car to someone that would restore it? Is it because the sum of the parts is greater than the whole?
  18. Not mine. Spotted it on CL & thought someone here may be interested. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/ank/cto/4995055376.html
  19. 1953-54 NOS Optional hood bird. In original box. There are 2 part numbers - the box has 986785 & the bird has 3701859 on the underside. It has very minor shelf wear & age pitting that should buff out. The photos don't show it very well. Located in St. Paul, MN. Will ship.$325
  20. Matt, FYI the air cleaner is incorrect. The one on the car is Z28 from about 1970-71. Yours should be single snorkel. Here is a link to one I have on Oldride along with a photo. http://www.oldride.com/parts/9125136983.html
  21. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/wsh/cto/4735093093.html Not mine. Thought someone here may need parts. IMHO, what a shame to do this to this car.
  22. The gas door guard from another full size '62 GM car like an Impala will more than likely fit your Buick. You may be able to find photos of a Buick guard & an Impala one to compare.
  23. I am thinking about selling this piece, but I need help determining the value/price. The crystal is cracked as seen in photo. I would also be interested in any history or other information about it. Thanks in advance.
