  1. If you are contemplating a 71 or a 72 Riviera in your future. Check out Vanderbrink auctions. They have a 71 in Iowa in September and a 72 in Kansas in October. Both are projects but very restorable.
  2. Check your PCV valve, that will suck oil out big time if it is stuck open.
  3. The Parts Place ( www.thepartsplaceinc.com ) has them available for $179.00. The part number is RH9847199.
  4. For those that missed out on the EBAY auction, The Parts Place in Illinois offers a reproduction right side mirror for $129.00 complete with mounting bracket.
  5. As Jack Welch stated awhile ago, an official decision will be made public after the April 15th BCA Board of Directors meeting. The National meet committee has already voted on what to recommend to the board. Now, go forth and speculate no more, wait for the BCA boards decision.
  6. Alan, A lot of things changed between 95 and 99. You will want a 98 or 99 for everything to interchange.
  7. Now I need to go to Target and pick up a Mr. Fusion.
  8. Isn't that the way things go, as soon as you don't need something, it comes up on EBAY.
  9. Reverse the seat back and side filler trim and you have got it. Package tray, side filler trim, seat back then speaker.
  10. CARS has the correct lug nuts to finish off this beauty.
  11. A friend of mine called me today asking if I knew of a Junior seat that was an available option for 58 and 59 Buick and Oldsmobile wagons. It is a bolt in 3rd seat in the cargo area, the fore runner of the fold down 3rd seat that became available in 1960. Has anyone seen one or better yet have a picture to show?
  12. Ihttps://youtu.be/L4GDJhFN8_U I was listening to Hot Rod Radio this morning while taking the 41 Limited to storage when this song came on. I knew Arlen is a Buick guy but I had not heard this one before. A pretty good song in my opinion.
  13. Thought you might be doing Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3 or something...
  14. From the location and Ebay ID, I think Kreed is unloading some extra parts.
  15. For that kind of money, the details should be done right.
  16. The filler panel below the chrome speaker housing is a press fit. Just get a finger behind it towards the bottom and pull forward. There are two screws at the bottom of the housing, remove them and pull the bottom of the housing forward and down. Disconnect the speaker wire and you are good to go. Reverse to install.
  17. A guy I knew had this feature in his 62 Electra. Some kids at a show were looking the car over and said it is nice but that they prefer newer cars with the new technology. The owner asked the kids " Does your cars have voice activated radios?" They of course said "No" and he said " My radio changes stations on voice command". Now the kids thought he was yanking their chains when he got in the car to demonstrate. Sitting behind the steering wheel he turned on the radio and said "Change" while secretly pushing the floor switch. Of course the radio whirred and went to the next available station. The look on the kids faces was priceless. He even invited them to try one by one as the others were saying " No way- OMG" ect. They walked away impressed and were going to find out if the feature could be adapted to their cars. I wonder what the look on their faces was after an internet search turned up 62 Buick radio features.
  18. Bob's DOES state it doesn't fit Limiteds if you click on the part description, which I didn't the first time when I compared pricing. Live and learn.
  19. Matt/Jack. I went back the next morning with no luck. After reading you posts I went back again and expanded my search. Eureka! I found it 100 feet from the road in a line of trees. It is dirty but not damaged except for two small shallow dents that may have been there prior. I also found out why it came off, the ring that the wheel clips hang on to were bent so the clips would not hold well. Needless to say that will be corrected before I reinstall the hubcap. Thank you for the information
  20. So, last Friday returning from a late cruise in, I heard a Ting- ting, ting, ting after making a left turn. It was dark and there was no place to stop safely and I forgot to put a flashlight in the glovebox. When I got home, sure enough the right front hubcap was missing. I went online and ordered a replacement hubcap from CARS ( Bob's Automobilia has them also) The new one arrived today and it is 11" in diameter and the hubcaps still on the car are 10" in diameter. Both sellers state the hubcap will fit 41-50 Buicks. My question is, are there two sizes of 1941 Buick hubcaps? do I have the wrong wheels? or are the sellers wrong in their description of years it will fit. Both hubcaps look like each other, just the diameter is different. The car is a Limited 90-S.
  21. I have driven this car and knew the owner. He built it as a rolling business card for his performance shop. The car is very fast and reliable. We used to kid him that he would tow it to out of state shows. He said it was because they don't build the gas stations close enough together ( it has a 5/8" fuel line and gets about 4 mpg ).
  22. They are good cars, comfortable and get good gas mileage. It is Supercharged, not turbocharged. Look for rust where the engine cradle bolts to the body mounts, that is a weak point.
  23. Reminds me of my boss's mantra, " If you think you can-DON'T , Know you can." Things would be much better if people thought about what they are going to say before they do say it ( or type it ).
  24. You should post a picture of the "custom" gas cap you had earlier.
  25. We had a 75 degree day yesterday so I installed the new fuel pump. The car started right up and ran great. Now to get things moved around so I can get it on the road.
