  1. Define "gouging" More often than not, everything of consequence on an old pre war car is divisible by $1,000.
  2. This is her summer car. We take it out of a 40 ft shipping container about May 1 every year along with her Corvette and put it back in the container about November 1 for the winter. She does not want to get any snow and salt on her car. 🙂 She has a GMC Envoy to haul the grandsons around which is also her winter car. The Corvette we bought 45 years ago as a wedding present to ourselves and have had it ever since.
  3. Levittown. All of the houses are basically the same built one after another. Look here. https://ushistoryscene.com/article/levittown/
  4. Her car has a V6 which is a good compromise between going fast & good fuel economy. It has more than enough power. We chose fuel economy because of the unknown in fuel pricing when we bought it about 10 years ago. We rationalized that we were not going to be going to the drag strip, so why pay more for the V8, more for fuel, and higher insurance, etc... Glad we did.
  5. I remember her. She was a Buick dealer in Cincinnati. I called on her some as a rep. Interesting individual that LOVED THE KIDS. Sat with her at a couple of baseball games during the mid 1980's. She signed autographs for the kids from the minute she sat in her seat to the 7th inning taking time to talk to every one of them. The autographs were usually signed Schotzy with a dog paw drawn on the paper.
  6. Pictures taken at The Henry Ford museum in Dearborn, MI
  7. 1929 was the first year for a fuel pumps on Buicks.
  8. My wife LOVES her Synergy Green Camaro of the same generation.
  9. As of 7:30 Monday Detroit time the current bid is $3,500.00. Almost the price for a set of tires for the truck. https://jjkane.proxibid.com/asp/LotDetail.asp?lid=68050232
  10. Steve, Looks like our careers had many similarities, but I did those things in the 80's with Buick when I was a service rep & field service engineer. A number of years ago I donated all of my 80's service bulletins and zone letters to the Sloan Museum in Flint so others could use them for research if they want to. I too also spent time in Flint in the Home Office.
  11. Nice & fun looking tour. Touring is the best.
  12. Buy new. Here on Rock Auto for $6.00-$13.00. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/dodge,1973,dart,5.2l+318cid+v8,1088603,engine,motor+mount,5552
  13. With the leather cup at the end of the rod, I would think that it is some type of pump. It would draw fluid from the larger attached pipe that has the right angle orifice. Pull up on the stick and remove fluid. Opposite of a bicycle pump.
  14. A friend of mine had the same problem with his radiator. He took his radiator to a local shop that we work with and had the bottom tank taken off. He then ran a rod through all of the tubes to clean out the tubes. Let the radiator then soak in the cleaning solution for the weekend and then power flushed all of the tubes from the bottom. So far it looks like he might have fixed his radiator. Before he did this, most of the tubes did not flow any water, or very little. The radiator shop then put the bottom tank back on. We will find out if it is fixed this summer.
  15. Check with NAPA. They might stock/order them.
  16. Hopefully this picture will look better.
  17. Join the club on getting tires. Lots of us are waiting for tires.
  18. On a crank car, just leave the spark advance at full advance when you turn the car off. For the unknowing, they might get the opportunity to acquire a "Ford Fracture" http://www.mtfca.com/discus/messages/80257/99395.html?1248479847
  19. Just a thought, but on a fuel injection car, could the coolant sensor for the ECM be reading wrong? If reading hotter than it should it could give a lean condition?
