  1. If there was an update link, there could be a reminder in the Bugle to update your information when there is a change of address, cars, etc. Just another way to have everyone have a chance to keep current.
  2. Phil, On my Buick, there are three rivets on the outside edge of the trim ring with a place for a screw. The rivets go under a slot on the head light bucket. I just need to remove the screw and turn the ring counter clockwise about 5 degrees to remove the ring. Sometime it is tight to get the ring to turn because of age and gunk, but put some liquid wrench on it and it should free up.
  3. Tom, I see them at Hershey and sometimes on Ebay.
  4. From a Peter Gariepy post: "Director: Mark Shaw, durcodude@comcast.net Publicity Chairman: Jack Gerstkemper, bgerst7@aol.com Membership Chairman: Dave Ebert, dle38@comcast.net To join, just email your BCA number, snail mail & email addresses with a photo of your car(s) to Dave Ebert. You can’t beat the price: It is free to all BCA members. Our goal is to get more pre-war Buick owners into the BCA where they belong and get more pre-war Buicks out on the road where they belong." Here is a link to the web site. http://www.prewarbuick.com/index.php
  5. One suggestion is to have on the web page Buick Club of America - BCA - Welcome a form for updating / confirming the vehicles owned by members.
  6. Looking at the top two plates, I believe that they are commercial plates, possibly for a trailer because they have an expiration date. There are no car plates that I can remember from Mich that have an expiration date on it and that goes back to at least the 50's. The letter/number sequence usually identified as a car or a commercial truck until maybe the 90's.
  7. I have a mixed feeling on going to meets. I guess that part of the territory is that you will not always find things at a meet, but sometimes I have hit a great stash. Last couple of Hershey meets netted very little, but this year I found a bunch of things that I needed. Same can be said of Chickasha. And the things that I have found were not on Ebay or other internet sites as I watch those sites for parts. I will continue to go to meets unless the vendors stop coming.
  8. It might be an Oakland, but many of the other items would suggest a 4 cylinder car because of the length of the hood.
  9. Brian, Retired, yeah right. I am working 50-60 hours a week teaching auto classes and at the university. Still trying to get the last two through school. If there is any truth to the old quote of no rest for the wicked, where did I go wrong?
  10. Do not have any idea. I have never see that one before. Might be for some sort of society.
  11. I might put my guess as a 1918 Buick D-35 four cylinder. 1918 because of the rounded fenders and 4 cylinder because of the length of the hood.
  12. I did the same thing with my three offspring. That makes sure that they have some skin in the game and take care of the vehicle. The oldest daughter had engine to work on with me, second daughter had a transmission, and the son had both to fix. Over all they have taken care of the vehicles.
  13. RPO stands for Regular Production Option. Here is a current list. http://cs.pontiac-club.com/graphics/manuals/46/gm-firebird-camaro-GM-RPO-car-codes.pdf

    Old Gage?

Is it some sort of tool for wheel alignment?
  15. It was Albert C. Champion. http://www.hemmings.com/hcc/stories/2006/01/01/hmn_feature21.html
  16. Remember to only pull up on that crank thing
  17. Each one of the 45 spark plugs listed are different. Only the heat range is the same which is the 45. The 45xl has an extended length. 45xls has an extended length and a skirted - non threaded area below the end of the threads. The 45s has the threads with an area not threaded at the below the threaded area. And the differences continue. Forgot to say the the 45 was the heat range. I think 44 was a hotter plug and a 46 a colder plug, but that might be backwards. Do not remember for sure.
  18. how about a cover for a hot water heater?
  19. One other place that I found for a certified scale was a scrap yard. There is one near me that will give you a certified weight for about $25.00. I was going to use it to get the weight for a home built trailer.
  20. The newer transmission fluids have as much as 15% additives by volume. These additives include friction modifiers, anti-foaming, anti-oxidizers, etc..

    New Regal

Was told by a friend of mine that the new Regal that is currently being made in Germany is going to start production in Oshawa in mid January.
  22. You should not use E-85 on cars/trucks unless they are designed for it. The alcohol will destroy the older rubber components of the fuel system and corrode metals. Also if you use E-85 in a car that will use it , the fuel economy will usually be about 60-70% of the fuel economy of plain gas.
