  1. Here is a link to some pix from the Pasadena Dec 26th cruise. Some great pictures and vehicles. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/<wbr>forum/showthread.php?t=543951
  2. I like this listing. You can put the Pennsylvania Railroad with the Checker cab company. checker marathon for parts or restoration - eBay (item 190484120611 end time Jan-06-11 12:42:27 PST)
  3. R-12 was a change for everyone in this country. You can still buy R-134a. Similar type of change, but not as drastic as the paint issue.
  4. I would probably say just pay up. Most of it depends on how old the vehicle is, when the last time it was titled/transferred, state you are looking at asking as many states have purged old files, etc.
  5. Suggest that you move this request to buy/sell in the Buick category to get better exposure.
  6. Just a crazy suggestion is to go to a u-pull em salvage yard and get a harness a large current like 80's GM car. Take the harness apart and lay it out on the drive. That way you can pick and choose wires with a lot of colors and lengths so the colors match and maybe you will get connectors and terminals that are already pre crimped. I actually have a big box full of old wiring harness that I keep to get the right wire when I am doing a wiring repair.
  7. I had the same issue on one of my trucks with the engine being on the title and not the VIN number. Just had to submit for a corrected title which needed to have a sheriff come confirm the two numbers were on the truck. Submitted the paperwork and now have the VIN on the title.
  8. If you can post a pix of what you need some of us can look for you need on our auto part purchasing tours in the recycle yards
  9. Lamar, You have as much snow there as we have in Detroit.
  10. The valve seat coming out of the top of the Stewart Warner tank is a somewhat known problem with age. Tom Black told me of that a number of years ago. I believe he said he restaked the brass seat back into the cover.
  11. I still like the tag line of " if you don't drive them, you might as well collect clocks"
  12. Looked at same type of thing as DaveA in Indiana. Could not make a deal on some Buicks and they went to the crusher because the township was on her to get the place clean yesterday and the daughter had a take it or leave it attitude. Oh well can not say that I did not try to beat the crusher.
  13. My parents had a 68 Sportwagon 9 passenger with the 3 seats. If my memory was correct, it had a 400 cubic inch engine in it with a 400 trans. They used it to tow a travel trailer on vacations.
  14. Here is the current fire station for that truck Walton Fire Station
  15. By the way, when you disconnect and touch both battery cables, you will probably lose all of the radio presets.
  16. I did the same thing with a generator a number of years ago. Power was going out all of the time so I bought a generator. After the purchase, the power did not go out for over 7 years.
  17. Hey, I just saw Barry's project today and I can say that it looks great. What an awesome find!! Other than the front work that he is working on today, the car looks like it just rolled off the line.
  18. Did you work in Allentown or Columbia? Friend of mine worked for Mack in both locations.
  19. And here is another one RARE FIND: 1960 Buick Memorabilia Literature 60 - eBay (item 160523223831 end time Jan-24-11 12:15:38 PST)
  20. Dave, Is the plow truck on the wrong side of the line of cars?
  21. What do you need? If you have the automatic climate control, (RPO C68) and if I remember correctly there are two types of motors that move the actuator doors. They will look something like this. One is a two wire motor and the other is a three wire motor for the sensors plus the power and grounds to move the motor. Many times if the sensor went bad the light would start blinking. If it was mine, I would try to remove the motor and move the mode door to see if it was free. If it was free I would replace the motor for the actuator that is causing the light to blink. Hope this helps.
  22. My best suggestion would be to buy a service manual. E-bay is probably the best place to get one.
  23. Working in the snow.....Been there done that more times than I can remember.
