  1. Model A heater, might also be for a T http://www.snydersantiqueauto.com/uploads/A18478S-5419-xl.jpg
  2. I agree that Windsor was an integral part of the area.
  3. I would not remove safety equipment.
  4. One thought is you might check the sun roof seals for other GM cars at the time. Most of the sun roofs at the time came from the same supplier which was Fisher Body and the seals might be the same. Try the bodies like a Park Ave, Lesabre or Regal. Just a thought.
  5. John, I have watched your posts for some time and the one common thread is that you seem to believe McLaughlin was the center of the GM success. Your right if that is what you believe. Being from Flint and having family that have worked for GM since 1915 when Billy Durant was running the show, I have a difference of opinion which is also fine. Almost all of you posts in each thread has the early McLaughlin production figures. Because? I will just take a pass on further discussion. Regards
  6. I do not know of anywhere that holds a candle to the metro Detroit area/ southeastern Michigan if you include Detroit/Pontiac/Flint/Lansing/Jackson,etc. I do not know for sure, but I bet if you looked up all of the cars produced in the 1900-1929 time frame, probably more that 25% of all nameplates would call Michigan home. The venture capitalists in Michigan at the turn of the last century that had money in the bank from lumbering Michigan made and kept the car business located in Michigan.
  7. The number of the lock cylinder to cut a key is correct on more recent vehicles, but I do not know on prewar vehicles.
  8. I would probably take a lock cylinder out of the door and take it to a lock smith.
  9. msmazcol, Now that is COOL......
  10. Now I have been around a while, but the bearing in the liquid grease is a great idea. Never heard of that before.
  11. Because it was a package deal where I had to take the trailer with the vehicle. I then towed the whole thing from Orlando,Fl to Detroit.
  12. The come-a-long works. Using this 4000 Lb. Capacity Cable Winch Puller If I can get this up on a trailer with a come-a-long, just a car should be a piece of cake.
  13. New vehicles are very complex because of customer demands, government regulations, emission standards, and......the list goes on. Some of the vehicles have over 30 different modules (micro computers) that talk on a serial data line / network. Lost of communication between modules and customer interfaces. No more easy low tech fixes.
  14. Chuck, Could you post some pictures to be sure of application? Thanks
  15. If I was guessing without doing a mileage test, I would guess about 10 miles per gallon or less. From what you are saying, I would guess that the drive is no more than 2 miles. That said, the car is not even getting warmed up so it would still be in fuel enrichment mode most of the time. Question: On the drive do you get any heat out of the heater? That would tell the temp of the engine. Also does the car have an engine temp gauge and if so what does it say at the end of the drive?
  16. Bernie, You might try a home improvement store for a drill that has long rod as part of the drill. It is used for running electrical wires through enclosed walls, etc. Maybe something like this Sears: Online department store featuring appliances, tools, fitness equipment and more If not, maybe take a drill smaller than the tube and weld an extension to the drill and carefully drill out the broken wire etc.. Just a thought.
  17. Might want to look at this thread. http://forums.aaca.org/f155/true-about-chevrolet-cars-suvs-295962.html
  18. I should know better. I remember adjusting the brakes with my Dad on our 55 Chevy. duuuhhh
  19. I agree. Like the photo and video tab is done. Thanks
  20. Dave, How many vin # are on that truck? Looks like the pieces of at least 4.
  21. Was there not a Model T that had a single door in the rear of the vehicle? If so was that maybe the "center door" car that he was thinking about?
