  1. If it is leaking, you need to check the head for flatness. If not perfect, you might need to have the head resurfaced.
  2. Unless it is a shadow, it looks like it is leaking between 4&5. Maybe between 2&3 also.
  3. Pictures, frame number, engine number, and where are you and the car located?
  4. Just because you can does not mean you should.
  5. I had one of those problems at one time. It turned out to be where the circuit for the distributor wire goes from the outside to the points inside of the distributor. The circuit is through the distributor housing using a bolt that is surrounded by an insulator sleeve. Turned out the sleeve was cracked and allowed the circuit to go to ground and the engine would miss or stop. Just a thought.
  6. I have read the report and also seen some of the videos on the subject. Eye opening research, but I still use the with the correct torque when putting stuff together.
  7. What about a seized water pump or alternator? You would not be the first. Take off the belts and see what happens.
  8. It should be OK to have it in the house if you are using it as a paper weight.
  9. Quite plentiful and I believe from the late teens to early 20's. I believe they are for Model 45 cars. Still all for $45 is a good deal to anyone that needs them.
  10. Fly over to Japan and buy the windshield. Make sure it is packed up correctly and put it on the plane with you. You will get a vacation and a windshield at the same time. So what if you need to pay the maybe $50.00 excess baggage charge.
  11. Well my paperweight is almost the same size as yours.
  12. These are great for heating up stuck bolts & nuts. Learned that in about 5th grade science. Remember the ball & ring experiment?
  13. Our tableware, dishes and silverware we got 46 years ago when we got married still looks good and actually somewhat sought after. When I have needed to replace a piece broken here and there the prices are quite high. As for musical instruments I used my Dads trumpet in school and I graduated in 1970. Then my son used his grandfathers trumped(same one) through school. My daughters used my French horn that I used through school. If you look at yourself as the caretaker of an item and take care of it the item will have a long and useful life. Electronics excluded.
  14. IMO and many others, if you have the original brakes set up to the original factory specifications they are more than adequate for braking in any situation. Unless you are racing the car and concerned about brake fade the original brakes will stop the car fine. Added feature of having the original brakes is knowing that the car does not have a newer brake set up you will not want to "over drive" the car and you will have the ability to drive and enjoy the car as it was built. Just a thought.
  15. Much of Pinky Randall's collection was purchased by GM a few years ago and will reside in the new Heritage Center in Grand Blanc, Michigan when it is finished. GM is moving the Heritage Center from the Detroit area to the old GM Parts Division/ GM Customer Care & Aftersales headquarters in Grand Blanc. It will take up the whole building.
  16. It is hard sometimes to comprehend that all of the company cars that I had in the 80's & 90's are all now considered antique vehicles. I used to change cars every month/ 3,000 miles as they were product evaluation cars.
  17. Is it for sale? I know someone that might be interested, not me. I already have one in better shape.
  18. From an electrical standpoint, the closer to the battery the better.
  19. I too have been in that position. I bought a 1917 parts car for one artillery wheel. I have been selling the rest of the parts that I do not need.
