  1. Am amazing offering for someone that can bring it back to something magnificent.
  2. This is a BIG 2 barrel carb UK version. Used on mid-30's Rolls Royce. Any Help out there? 4-bolt base downdraft. I read notes that a DO-42 can adapt with base L971
  3. Well guys, I have been looking for more information to help identify the car, But I must say, I have been through this before. Guys ask me to look here-- look there-- what about this or that. Reminds me of the last time I put it out there for sale and I had a guy that JUST HAD to know about chassis numbers... I finally gave in and drilled out several rivets to expose the tube frame under and around the instrument panel. NO numbers were found. That was when I wrapped it up and walked away from it. It has been about 10 years now. Certainly not fair to the car! AND I complain about other guys that have cars sitting around no one enjoying them! Here I am GUILTY! MARCH 702 single pic next to trailer.doc
  4. Model 20/25 This Car came to me with electrical issues. Anyone have a diagram for this one?
  5. I am 6'2" 250# sized 13 shoe. The down tubes on the roll bar are in the way of my shoulders. Ihave seen different down tube set ups on these cars but did not want to modify the car for me.
  6. OK-- I'll try this forum and see what happens. A little info here to begin. This is a European Race Car with NO US History ever.. Therefore it is NOT an Formula Atlantic, never was... MARCH was formed in about 1969 and built several tube chassis in 69 and 1970 before going to the all aluminum tub-type chassis. The F-2 and F-3 frames were identical. Only the attached bits differed depending on if it was a small displacement engine (F-3) or a 2000cc (F-2) car. The F-1 cars were different, but still shared a lot of the same pieces. OK- So MY CAR is this: BMW 2000cc Tii based (1970 date codes) with the Kuglefisher racing multiport injection (not the passenger car stuff) and has a Hewland transmission. The car was last raced in 1979 in Germany including Nurburgring. It has two tech stickers that can still be seen-- One from the ADAC and one other. Here are some of the events it participated in: Formula 2 MARCH-BMW driven by Karl Schmitt of Marienrachdorf, Germany. Raced in F-2 class at Nurburgring 9th international ADAC/BMC event. First place. (1978) 14th International ADAC-Bergpries Heilbronn. First Place (1978) 12th International ADAC-Bergpries Wuppertal on the Nurbergring. First Place. (1978) Course De Cote Int. Luxemburg. Second Place 1979 12th International DMV-Bergpries-Zotzenbach 1979 The car has been stored since I imported it in 1990, it requires a complete restoration. Last time the engine was ran was in 1991. I recently uncovered it from many tarps, blankets and covers. Here are a few photos Own a piece of racing history for only 12,000
  7. I really don't want to do this but here goes. This is a complete rig that has all the goodies. Big brass headlights and spotlight, electric siren and all. Wood wheels, the big T head 6 cylinder engine. It had sat outside for a. Long time before I finally was able to buy it. I did some general inspection and pulled the pan to check the rods and mains and oil pump. Started it and drove it. Then set it aside for later. I have the registration number and history. Located in Napa Ca. Yes, it needs plenty of restoration but it is all there. I have no choice but offer it at this time for 22,000. Pictures later unless I decide not to let it go. Yes, this is the chassis that is used to build LaFrance speedsters.
  8. Craig, SUPER thanks for the info -- Really great to have some solid backup about what I have. Any idea what year this is? I'll get a few pictures of the lower end soon. Some of the pieces are at my brothers shop. He is into the early motorcycles and does a lot of Indian and Harley work.
  9. Great Video Read. Dang, shame on me for not watching it sooner!
  10. What is the correct engine and under hood decal set? Air cleaner decals I see "clear" and "Chrome" -- I see the big square one that says Aluminum V8 -- and the other 3-shield one with the 190 across it.. I am cleaning up a pretty original car-- Still has some of the grease-pencil factory marks under hood- Really nice solid convertible.
  11. When I have a special project that needs JUST the right grain and color, I use these guys for my leather hides: http://www.garrettleather.com/
  12. Craig, Correct on both counts. Tell me more--
  13. Here are a few pics of the rest of it. I have the original wicker chair that fits into the front. You can see some of it in the dark and under the dust. Yes, wrong rear fender and tires are small. Easy stuff to deal with here.
  14. Isn't series 1 stuff really valuable these days? Or is only if there is SOME of the car still attached?
  15. I bought this out of an estate and got zero info from the seller. Dang Estate sales folks don't help much. As you can see, this one is a V-Twin and the cases have the De Dion Bouton name on them. Yep, got the entire rig with it--- Actually it is a fore-car. Yep a 3-wheeler. Both front wheels steer. Frame is exactly like a regular 2-wheeler and could go back to a standard motorcycle configuration if it had the correct fork set. I'll be looking for some help with putting the engine back together. Needs pistons for sure, I think most of it is in decent shape, Need to do some better oiling system work.. So-- there ya have it. NO I am not a member of the antique motorcycle club. Belong to too many clubs already.
  16. Anyone have a diagram they can share? I am trying to rewire the generator (ok, dynamo) And also will be checking over all the other bits---
  17. Anyone care to share what they did to get the hood to fit the cowl? My original hinges have some wear, so adjustment was not good. Back of hood hit cowl chipping plaint, but hood sides had about 5/8 gap. Bought a new set of hinges from Drake, now the hood has about 5/8 gap across cowl exposing the hood lacing and attaching hardware. I have moved around both sets of hinges a lot- even enlarged the hinge mount holes in the cowl. What Next?
  18. Need more info-- What are the three cars? what are the conditions? what are the prices? what general area are you located? Not easy to help when there is not enough info...
  19. Handling Lost or missing titles can be a problem in some states. All depends on what the rules are. In California, there is a process whereby you can obtain a title for these cars. One of the pieces is to obtain a Vehicle Verification from a bonded vehicle verifier. I am one of these guys. I have to inspect the vehicle, see the VIN and determine if it is authentic and that I am inspecting a "real car" that means, I can not verify an incomplete vehicle. When I do these I also check a database for stolen cars-- I am not sure if the data base is correct (I have never had a report come up showing the car is stolen) and I also have to keep a record of who, what, when, where I did a verification. My document and a STACK of others go to the Motor Vehicle Department with the person seeking a title...
  20. Fantastic! We will see you soon in Las Vegas!
  21. Joe, hope you don't think I am being sarcastic -- Here goes: If you put about 300 grand cash in your pocket and head to every car show that MAY have a 53 Eldo show up--- You have one chance in about 400 to find a car-- and if you can talk the right talk-- flash the cash---- Maybe you get your name added to the list of beggars -- oops-- I mean BUYERS that want to have a 53 Eldorado under there seat. Even better chance if you head over to Power Meet in Sweden-- I think the majority of the 53 Eldos are there..
