  1. Anyone have a couple wheels? I know there are different styles for different cars. What do you have extra for sale? I need a couple. These need to be 6 lug 21" Actual car they will go on is a 2nd series Packard. They have an oval hole where the inner tube valve stem angles through. They are not the same as the 21" disc wheels on my 1924 Packard roadster. That car has the straight valve stem coming through a small steel tube that protects the valve stem of the tube. Anyone?? Thanks! Rod
  2. wow--- that was in 2008 that the guy had it. Long Gone Now...
  3. I am getting a few strange contacts asking if I am still looking for "THESE ITEMS" they dont say what they have for me, only want my name and phone number. Kind of strange contact, so I dont respond. Anyone had this happen?
  4. WOW--- Lots of stuff to sort out here.. Hope you guys using pressure regulators are replaciing them every few months.. and those vibrating type pumps as well. If not, I hope you have been inspecting them a LOT! The rubber fails--fuel leaks out--- not a good thing to have happen. I take them off of every car that comes to my shop.. MOST are already leaking. Vacuum systems work and are SAFE.
  5. I need one wheel. Could use two or three. These are for the 2nd series Packard project. 1926 1926 year. Anyone have parts for these cars? Also could use a rear spare tire rack for the 25 Pierce Arrow. email me at funcars4us@hotmail.com Thanks! Rod
  6. I am still wet from the walk around on Friday. Seemed that only about 1/4 of the sellers showed up. Yes, two Stanleys were uh--- "HOT" -- Had to head home for dry clothes.. OH-- Did I find any good stuff? Well, I had a good size shopping list.. Got ONE part right away.. But most stuff was covered up and more never came out of the back of trailers. Saturday Report ANYONE???? Bummer..
  7. OK Vern, We got our spreadin' gear on an goggles ready, Lets hook up the manure spreader and get to spreadin'
  8. That is the way it should work!
  9. When I see these things happen I wonder who has insurance that will help save these damaged collector cars. AND then IF the Insurance Adjuster has any CLUE about the actual replacement cost of these cars. As an appraiser, I am called in to inspect cars that have been deemed a total loss. So many cars have already been seen by an adjuster before I am called. It is not easy to clear up what a insurance company has set in motion. All I can say is get an appraisal. Be sure you tell any adjuster you have an appraisal and can show them a copy. BE sure you to tell them NOT to file a total loss declaration until you have reviewed and agreed to the final outcome.
  10. HA! Matt Started it.. So OK—Here I go for my “what am I working on today” report.. This one is for Matt, I began by working on one of the 1929 Cadillac engines. It is getting a complete rebuild. I have the crankcase all cleaned up and am ready to start putting parts back in it. BUT since the machine shop has not finished balancing parts, I went over to the 1929 Packard to fix the rear pinion leak. I want to upgrade the seal to a double lip style instead of the felt, so I am searching the books to see if I can come up with a decent seal to use. The yoke went out to be machined and hard chromed. So on to the next task, the 1922 American LaFrance starter! Thanks to Jim at Special Interest Autos, I have the brushes and Bendix spring. I had already worked with my machinist to make up a new end plate, so I can build the starter now. Meanwhile, I had to check with the painter to see the progress on the 25 Packard project. Good that I did! I had to show him what I wanted done to the doors and hardware before he finished the metalwork. And that reminded me I needed to make some calls to continue the search for the COMPLETE OIL RECTIFIER system I need for the 2nd series Packard engine. ANYONE? Then back here to the office to look at the Pierce Arrow cowl lamps I am trying to repair and add parts to my list I am making to take with them to the Annual Horseless Carriage Club Swap Meet in Bakersfield, Ca. BUT – MATT Got me sidetracked here adding this message to the board… HA! It is all you fault Matt!
  11. Curt, The Auburn Dawsons you posted are the same as the Dawsons I am familliar with.
  12. Dennis, Do you have the link for Vintage Reproductions? I will need some Dawson plugs soon. Thanks!
  13. Ben, I talked to you a few months back about the Packard roller. But I am WAY out here on the wrong coast and it just is way crazy to have it hauled here so I can get the missing parts for the 24 and 25 Packards I have in restoration. Really PAINS me to see it sitting there so far away. DANG. I could also use a couple 21" disc wheels for the 2nd series Packard project.
  14. Tried a few of the BIG yards in the midwest. No Luck.. Seems many of these cars ended life at destruction derby events. Did anyone save parts from these cars?
  15. CAN ANYONE Help me with this one? I need a NICE NICE left upper tail lamp bezel for a 71 Olds Custom Cruiser Station Wagon. LOOKING at photos of Olds 98 sedans, it seems to be the same part. 72 is not the same.
  16. Anyone casting the hub covers for these ALF models? I could use a set of four. Rod email me at funcars4us@hotmail.com
  17. Two 24 25 Lincoln "parts cars" exist up in Lodi, Ca. I am not sure if JEFF READS THIS FORUM... If so -- Jeff, Respond to this guy that needs your parts... Rod
  18. Hi Matt, Nice find! SOME DAY when I am rich and famous... I would like to get a 39 to 41 Sixty Special. But for now I have to be content with my 41 Series 63. I do have the hydramatic trans, which makes it a good "daily driver" But I am saving my spare change so I can get to work on my 29 Pheaton and the 25 Packard roadster.
  19. They would look COOL on my 1903 Cadillac surrey------ replica....
  20. 49 Merc, carson top, flathead with dual 97's and aluminum heads... and it happened in 1950!
  21. I picked up an M6 from an OLD wrecking yard... He had it stuffed back in a shed with Model T Ford stuff.. Said he drove the car in back in the day.... Whatever that day was I have no clue.. But judging from the dust on it and that under the dust there was NO grease, grime, oil or rust.. Maybe I scored.. NO--- He did not want to sell ANY of the T stuff... Had yo walk past a AA Ford flatbed, a T truck and a 27 touring, crawl over another T chassis..... There it was... next to a stack of T top bows
  22. Yep, I agree with you.. But I am out here in Kalifornya -- land of fruits and nuts... OH and why-noz... All these enviro natzis hate old cars and salvage yards.. The yards that exist, dont have old cars..... The yards that DO have old stuff are shut down and under control of guys that would rather use visitors for target practice than to sell any parts.. Sure aint easy playing with old cars.
  23. I Need the complete box that bolts to the firewall.. With all the STUFF that is inside it. Heater core, evaporator, shutters, all of it..... The rest of the story----- This car is/was a STRETCH LIMO.. It ended up as a Burning Man(look it up on wikpedia) Art car... Hood removed, engine mounts blocked up so the engine stuck up HIGH, big exhaust pipes stuck up in the air form the manifolds... Interior covered in fake animal print, tube lights hung all OVER the car....... BUT NOW--- Hard to believe this----- THE car is going back to original.. Yep, it is being SAVED.. But when they raised up the engine, they just broke up the heater box to make room.
  24. WAY TOOO NEW for me! But I am trying to find out what Heater and A/C box fits a 1977 78 BIG Lincoln. I guess that would be a Continental if it is a four door. I would like to know if the MARK series will interchange. I do not have either car, but am trying to locate a complete unit for a guy that is trying to rebuild one that had damage to the entire heater box under hood.
