I think that 1968 Cadillac front shoes are 2.5 inches wide and will fit the Roadmaster. -

I tried to install the upper spacers in my '56 and I couldn't get the spring to compress enough to fit it in, so I left it off. No problem with noise or clanking.

If you want to save gas, walk, take a bus or train. If you own a Buick I can't see how you would save gas. I drive them like I stole them.

I JUST WENT THROUGH THE SAME PROCESS AND IT WAS A FAULTY SOLENOID RELAY. yOU CAN FIND THEM ON EBAY FOR 50 TO 76 DOLLARS.

I believe that an electric windshield wiper motor from a '55 - '57 Chevrolet will interchange. The switch is on the motor and you use the original cable to operate it.

I bought this car in 1995 in parts and finished it in 1998. -
The filter fits tight against the upper and lower lids the air cleaner. The cleaner element is almost 4 inches high.

I have converted my 1956 Buick air cleaner from oil bath to paper filter. It can be changed back in a few minutes. You need a conversion ring from the 4 1/8" carb to a 5" ring on the paper element. And the filter holder itself. See pictures.

I have used Pertronix units in all of my Buicks (at least 7 of them) and in 3 Corvettes for the last 25 years with absolutely no problems with any of them.
