  1. My grandfather gave me his old 1941 Buick Super 51 on my 17th birthday.
  2. I installed a set of 1947 Roadmaster 15" x 61/2" wheels on my '54 Buick with tubeless WWW radial tires and full wheel hubcaps. I have had no problems with this arrangement for the last 12 years. I still have the original wheels and tube type tires that the car came with from the factory in 1954.
  3. I know a guy that needs the trunk lid off of the '48 Roady.
  4. The reason Buick did not use gaskets on exhaust manifolds is that they wanted a better heat transfer between heads and manifolds. Gaskets will hinder that transfer.
  5. I have the same problem with my '56 Century. When the gas tank is full, the gauge reads about 5/8 full.
  6. Thank you all for your input. I will try and wade through those 33 pages.
  7. Would it be better for an original 50s era Buick nailhead engine to switch to synthetic from conventinial oil?
  8. My grandfather gave me my first car on my 17th birthday in 1960. It was a 1941 Buick Super 4 door sedan. It had the compound carburetors and it would haul ass. It was bought brand new by my great aunt (his sister) and she gave it to him in 1954 when she bought a new Buick Special. When she got too old to drive she gave it to me in 1975 and I still have that car.
  9. I converted to Pertronix years ago when I was a lot younger and I never have to work on the distributor again.
  10. I have reduced my price down to $1000.
  11. I have both Diamondback and Lucas wide whitewall radials on all of my Buicks for at least the last 10 t0 20 years. I have had absolutely no problems with them and they are on the stock steel wheels and one set of chrome spoke wheels. I have had the suspension beefed up on all cars so they don't wallow around curves.
  12. I have produced the carburetor base plates for '55 and '56 Buicks with 4 barrel carburetors. They are 16 gauge steel about twice as thick as the stock ones. I will sell them for $25.00 each plus shipping.
  13. I run a 40% mixture of 100LL Av Gas and 60% 91 octane in all of my Buicks. I have been doing this for the last 30 years and have had no problems or issues with my cars.
  14. I just bought a 4 barrel Carter for my '56 Century for $225.
  15. I get all of my batteries from Tractor Supply. I just bought a new one from them for my 1954 Special a 3ET. The previous one lasted 13 years. I keep battery tenders on my cars.
  16. I have for sale a 401 cid rebuilt short block from a 1963 LeSabre. A set of 1964 heads. A crankshaft from a 1964 401 engine. Intake and exhaust manifolds, carburetor (4 bbl). Plus accessories and too many parts to list here. $1200.00 OBO. PM me for pictures and details. Located in Central California.
  17. I just rearranged my garage and will post pictures later.
  18. I drove my 1954 Buick 30 miles to a car show in Mariposa, CA. It ran great!
  19. I prefer a stiffer ride. I installed heavier duty springs, shocks and front sway bar. If you are feeling every bump in the road then you are travelling over bumpy roads.
  20. I have replaced the factory 4 blade fan with a 6 blade flex fan on my Buicks and have had a cooler running engine.
  21. Packick" I like your dog. I have one just like yours.
  22. I have a 401 rebuilt short block from a 1963 Le Sabre JR code S/N 4J35514 for sale.
