  1. What series............52.............62...............72....................80?
  2. Guys don't get excited ; these are only 20 +/_ year old used cars...........say like late 1980's stuff!
  3. mrcvs..........remember a car needs three things to run fuel, spark, and compression. Analyze each of these to determine which is at fault. Then figure out what is causing the trouble.
  4. No. 4 down is a 1928 Chrysler "72" Royal sedan.......................You didn't stand a chance in most cars of this era even in a minor accident; with plate glass windows and composite bodies' no seat belts or padded dashes even a quick stop could kill or disfigure.
  5. David, there is no workshop manual for this car. I don't when Chrysler started producing 'SHOP" manuals; however, there were none at this time. There were parts books for the cars of this era and they are helpful. John Wolf restored my instruments (gas, temp, oil pres. etc.) for me and if you refer to my current restorations postings you can see the results of his efforts.
  6. Nice series "72". Owner's manuals and original factory photos are available from the Chrysler Historical Data Collection.
  7. David B................I'll try to help.................you helped me in '09 ..........let me see if I can help you today. Here's a pic of a parts car I have. I am trying to preserve it intack for a pattern. If I need a part I take it off ; yet replace it with the worn out/damaged one from the restoration.
  8. mikewest...........what do you need cast?........Steve what did you have cast?..............I'm researching recasting several parts.
  9. Never seen or heard of one of these..........good call keiser31!
  10. Does GM/Buick have shipping history of the serial#?
  11. About 4 or 5 years ago there was a nicely restored Continential Beacon at the Hilton Head Concours.......I must admit, it stood out to me above all the other cars there. Rare bird!
  12. It could be designed by LeBaron, and built by American. The American body Co. was a quality bldr.
  13. I think you need to contact them by mail. Could you post some more pics of your car?
  14. Suggestion to the web site.............................the site should include a reference to a library or data base of Parts manuals, owner's manuals, literature and film sources on antique autos that you can scroll to as easy as it is to get to one of these topics.
  15. There may be what appears to be a grease fitting on the gear box; however, I'll be willing to bet that is for a heavy oil. Grease does not lubricate in most early gear boxes. Check your original lub specifications, it most probably calls for a 600wt oil. I had this issue on my "L" Lincoln. By the way............You have a fabulous car!
  16. You need to drive and learn the vehicle. Drive it often and far. Eventually you will learn it's needs where repairs or overhaul is required and can bring it back to the dependability level of it's day. Get a parts list, owner's manual and shop manual if they exsist. Meet and talk to owners of similiar cars and vintage.
  17. Figure what diameter you want the cylinders if you need to bore or hone, then contact a good piston shop such as J&E and have a set made up. If there is a Good engine shop near you talk to them.
  18. I'll take the Jordan! Do you offer financing?
  19. The engine isn't the issue at those speeds it's the suspension, steering, and brakes. You can get cars of the 20's that will cruise at speeds arround 70 mph. You don't want to be trying to maneuver at speed on today's expressway with a car of that vintage!
