  1. I have a 28 Chrysler model 62. The s/n is LR810H or 748103. I am trying to figure out when it was built. My resurces say that there were 49553 Chryslers built 6/27 to 6/28. The series starting # was 700001 and ending # 761012 which would make 61012. Are some of the numbers date references? Anybody know?
  2. I have access to a nice 1927 Chevrolet Landau coupe. It has a new engine with less than 100 miles on it. The speedometer shows 22,220 miles. The top wood has been redone and the top recovered. New upholstery(not correct but nice) Original paint or a very old repaint that is in good condition. This is a solid car with no body damage and would make an excellent driver. Asking $12,000 Contact me at mm2jack@comcast.net or 520 820 6654. The car is located in Tucson, AZ. Picture is available by email request.
  3. There seems to be some inherent problems with Rocky Mountain brakes. has anybody out there put hydraulic brakes on the rear? I understand it can be done. If you have done or know somebody that has done this, please contact me. Thanks
  4. I have a 28 Model 62 6 cylinder and parts are rare. My brake cylinders were rebuildable and I bought kits locally. Also found a local source to make brake hose. My linings were good. Found engine gaskets at Olson's Gaskets. i am told Egge machine is a source for engine parts. Subscribe to the WPC club and magazine. Good luck
  5. Anyone familiar with the rims on my 1928 Chrysler? They appear to have an over center lock to collapse the rim for tire removal. Any help on mounting new tires would be appreciated.
  6. I am not familiar with the rims on my old Chrysler. They have what appears to be an "over center" lock to collapse the rim for tire removal. I am sure there is or was a tool to use on these rims. How do they work? Anything to be careful of? Can I just use pry bars? Any help would be appreciated.
  7. Thanks for the information. The engine just needs a cleanup and a set of rings, lap in the valves. I am working on the brakes now. Fortunately, the wheel cylinders cleaned up. The brake bands are brand new. I think the previous owner must have passed away and had just started looking at the brakes. The engine was rusted up but not bad damage, only enough to keep it from turning over..
  8. I am trying to get an old restoration running again. Looking for partsfor 1928 6 cylinder engine. Gaskets, rings, etc. If i can't locate parts would a later engine bolt in? It seems that parts for the later flathead 6 are available. I would like to keep the car as original as possible but it is becoming an uphill battle (unlike my ModelT) Any suggestions or help would be appreciated. contact mm2jack@comcast.net 520 820 6654
  9. I will send you a link to pictures I have. If you need more let me know.
  10. I am getting aBAD email message. Could yoy check it again?
  11. Thanks, I will check it out. i am still learning my way around these cars.
  12. I just did some work on my T and I have a steady stream of oil coming from the bendix cover when the engine is running. I did not work in that area. I repared the generator and radiator. Any ideas? I haven't pulled the cover or the starter yet but why a leak when we have a splash oil system?
  13. I just bought a 1928 model 62. It is in MI and I will be bringing it to AZ next month. Engine not turning over. An old restore. I will be looking for parts too. keep in touch.
  14. I haven't had time to check anything out yet. I think the engine has just been sitting for many years. The brakes evidently had a leak. I will know more when I get the car to AZ in Sept. it is still in Michigan. i snatched it up because it was in good shape except for engine and brakes but it is all there. I even got a manual with it. The guy i bought it from said the engine wouldnt trurn over with the starter but that could mean a lot of things. I will just have to get the car out here. it had a frame up restore in the 60s I think.
