  1. Tom This heater probably has a mechanical valve controlling hot water flow to the heater coil inside the car; as compared to solenoid/electrical. If I had to guess,I,d say the steel cable running from the dash lever to the valve is broken, leaving the valve in the open position;allowing hot water to continually flow through the coil. Try moving the lever back and forth; and see if the valve mechanism moves. Also, make sure the valve stem itself is not broken. If I'm way off base, disconnect the hot water feed line and plug it up till this winter.
  2. I know the standards for describing viscosity of oil have changed since the teens;however,I would refer to the manufacture's specifications,which should be in the owner's manual. It seems from what I've seen,most automobiles of this era used what is available today as a "600" weight oil. I have used this oil in my "L" Lincoln. I must say I only have limited driving experience using this new "600" weight;although it has significantly quieted the gear box.
  3. I just purchased an old auto repair shop; there were quite a few loose automobile bulbs with it, if you can give me the bulb number I'll check my stock.
  4. In the Summer/Fall 2001 issue of "Foward" (published by The Walter P. Chrysler Museum)there is an excellent article entitled "The American Upstart" with pictures of the vehicles participating at Le Mans in 1928. It is of note that Chrysler entered chassis'carrying both roadster bodies offered on the series "72".
  5. In the late 60's/early 70's a publisher by the name of Crank'en Hope Publications reprinted "The Chrysler Master parts list for allmodels prior to 1934"; this is an excellent source for parts info. It is a little confusing. If you can find a copy it will be an aid in your restoration.
