  1. Malcolm, The modifications I can see on a quick look include, seal beam headlights, radiator splash shield, and running boards; there maybe others. The red head engine has a high (6 to 1) compression head; the block is the same for all three variations of the motor. Colors of the three participants.........well.......I'm not sure. Chrysler Corp. shown a car at Hilton Head a few years ago," #8" of the race team of Le Mans '28; it was painted yellow.
  2. Mine is 1.7"OD, yet it is a replacement from a restoration of the sixties............By the way, my car is from Arizona.
  3. By the way...........this is a first series roadster..................my avatar is a second series.
  4. Thanks for the pictures........It's a series "72" alright..............been modified a bit.......remember two of these placed 3rd and 4th at Le Mans that year. Does it have the Red Head engine?
  5. These (bumpers) were optional equipment in their day so your car may never have had them; however, they should be available out there or you could fab them up as they were made of flat bar stock.
  6. Your car is an early "70" as the serial numbers ran from WY-580-W (165801) to PS-287-D (272870); yours translates to 178105.
  7. That is an early hydraulic brake fluid tank; probably Chrysler of the twenties.
  8. Wow!..............I'm impressed! Where did the block pics come from?
  9. Thanks Bud!...................I felt there was a good chance one of the members out on the west coast would know more.................thanks again
  10. I Like It!!!!.................What type of paint did you use?
  11. Twice in the past I posted an inquiry on this site as to whether anyone knew anything about the Edward Lowe Motors Company; as a 1928 "L" Lincoln I have has a tag on the sill plate under the drivers door proclaiming the car to have been originally sold at said dealership. No response. This afternoon I googled the dealership's name and several references came up. The first two were my inquiries from this site; the third refered me to a E-Bay offering. The offering was a copy of an ad from Motor Land magazine of 1925. Information I can gleen from this ad is that the dealership was the succesor to the The Murphy Motors Company located at the corner of Van Ness Ave. and Jackson Street in San Francisco. Again can anyone add to this.
  12. Where is this collection located?
  13. I agree, the clutch, water jacket cover and flywheel housing all look Studebaker.
  14. I just spent from 9:36 to 11:02 on hold with my anitque car insurance company.............yes, I did talk very briefly with 4 people including one who lost me (I had to restart/redial)...............somehow my payment was lost and they sent me a "Notice of Policy Expiration" as my check was lost in the mail (mailed 1.5 months ago)................this letter instructed me to call this # to deal with the issue................seems like the insurance company has gotten too big for personal service ..................yeah...........I've only been with them for over 12 years.....................can anyone recommend a company where I can talk to a real person?
  15. If it is a Fisher body, it will have a small brass Fisher tag on the lower right quarter panel.
  16. Here is a factory shot of a Royal sedan......is it like this?
  17. Interesting body..................looks to be cobbled up...........but nice!
  18. What type of 4 door is it; royal sedan or crown sedan? If it is a Royal sedan the body was built by Fisher, not Budd.
  19. Where's the rest of the car.......and how do you know it fits a series 72?

The NOS pistons are out there............are they cast iron or aluminum? Repros shouldn't be that expensive.
