SOLD: 1932 Cadillac / LaSalle Circuit Control box
edinmass replied to TexRiv_63's topic in Parts For Sale
A buzz box........hard to find, and not much demand. It will eventually sell, as many are missing or bypassed.- 1 reply

Dave , You start work next week.......see you then! Looks great. Pride in accomplishment is priceless. I don't think it would have come out as well if I did it. Most of all, you still have your own car, with it's known service and driving history. Not much better than that. Congratulations and Merry Christmas! PS- Change you name to McGiver now..........🤠

Thank you, I had that one in my files already.(Except my copy say Eismann magneto.) What is interesting is some show Eismann magnetos, others like yours show nothing. The diagram says 12 volt on the battery but shows a six volt in the diagram. Interesting the starter switch does not call out it is mechanical. I think it's just so early universal nomenclature was not available in diagrams........ on the earlier cars the starter swung into and out of position with a lever on the dash to engage the flywheel......no bendix!

Peter...thanks. In mid 1916 White issued an announcement in trade publications that they were no longer using Bosch because of the war and supply issues, so they went to Eismann for a short time. They were certainly not consistent. White went from 6 volt to 18 volt, to 12 volt all in three years. And there is cross over with extra/left over parts and inventories. White made huge numbers of trucks, but the number of cars was fairly small in the "gas era". I have seen Delco in White cars and trucks that were factory as far as I can tell from 1915 to 1919. The only fixed rule was there are no rules at White during the war years.

EPA is getting nasty. For installers, aftermarket, and manufacturers of aftermarket items. It’s 10k to have an EGR removed off a Desiel post 2006.....and people are cutting checks. He feds are placing laser exhaust testers at stop lights with cameras..........it’s chicken shit, but it’s ongoing. Most of the aftermarket Desiel is gone.......even chips, and tunes are getting fined. Lots of YouTube interviews with people getting doors knocked on and a few kicked down. It’s simply no longer worth your time to modify any modern vehicles. They consider moving an O2 sensor six inches a modification of an emissions control system. Like the crazies in politics......the DOT & EPA are over the top now...........and they are after your check book. Pre 1980 they can’t be bothered with........even though 1972 and later are under regulation.

If you doing the math on restoration, or care about you in and out values........it’s time for a new hobby........unless you collect cars in the seven figures...........just consider you money is on the roulette wheel......and you only play is OO green........... the hobby has evolved........the numbers never work anywhere, anyway. Just enjoy the ride..........

Old filters tend to be expensive, and fall apart. Causing lots of problems. Even the stuff made in the 1970’s is causing issues........swap it over to a conversion that conceals a modern cartridge.

I might have a use, but I can’t check what I need for a few days........

Question about 1930 Pierce Arrow fuel pump installation
edinmass replied to Joe Cocuzza's topic in General Discussion
Let me check.....29 was a AC Type A with the hat. 30 is a Stewart Warner.......so the pump you have may need a spacer.....let me check my notes. 👍
